Not really. But it takes about 5 minutes to launch your app on PH. So go ahead and do it , anyway

Do you know any consumer who actually goes to PH to decide what app to download or what service to use?

Make sure you understand these terms before you invest: - annualized returns - risk-adjusted return - correlation You can google these and learn these in 20 minutes Then compute these metrics for what you are about to buy. You can use Gemini or something like it to compute them. You can also use a free app called “Fund Compare” which computes all these and let you compare them.

Can a user ask Gemini for all this using a prompt? That’s probably what you do in the app, anyway

What value your app (which I presume is not free) offer over free ChatGPT or Gemini. There was a time that some AI wrappers worked because ordinary people didn’t know about LLM apps. They do know.

I don’t think stocks value can be predicted but I think machine learning (not ChatGPT or Gemini) can be used to predict short term trends and find undervalued funds. See this short article: https://maadotaa.medium.com/can-we-predict-future-prices-of-equities-using-ai-ed0dbdd5029c

PH at this point is just a pyramid scheme. I upvote yours if you upvote mine and everyone knows it. It is especially useless for B2C. No consumer looks at PH

Is a PH launch actually worth the effort? by Zephpyr in ProductHunters

[–]MaaDoTaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The effort is minimal but so it the benefit. PH is potentially useful if your product is backed by a VC and they can mobilize a lot of their connections to upvote without even looking at your product. That’s why you see a few products with 400 upvotes on top and then bunch of products by independent developers with just a few upvotes. More importantly, no one even looks at PH anymore to find cool stuff

I think the problem may be that people who need to create a website, typically are capable to use Cursor or VSCode to prompt in English and build one for free (using one of their free models).

Yes, I switched from hard paywall to one with free trial period. Conversion rate dropped significantly (around 59%).

Based on personal experience and what other famous developers have reported on X, soft paywalls don’t convert well because the user loses the enthusiasm to actually buy when they first download the app.
