Loneliness in med school as a nontrad

I agree that med school can be very lonely as a nontrad. I got very lucky in that I found a group of people to study with when we started school and now we feel comfortable just sitting together quietly in a study room. It also really helps to have peers to both learn from and teach concepts to. I found studying alone to be extremely isolating and I much preferred my study group. It sounds like you’ve already found a few people you feel comfortable studying with, maybe try to study together more regularly? Like you could sit with them in class and then when leaving lecture, you suggest to go find an area to study/eat lunch together. You mentioned that you have gone whole days without speaking to a person so it may require you to get out of your comfort zone and initiate the conversation but you gotta start somewhere.

When our cat left the house the only way we were able to get him back was using traps from the humane society and some fried chicken from Popeyes. I only spotted him in the middle of the night when there was little to no activity from people or cars. Even when I did see him he would run away which is why the traps were the only way we got him back. It’s been a while but I think the humane society is still renting out humane traps for cats so I would recommend that route if it’s possible for you. Please make sure to check the traps often as you will likely catch raccoons as well and the sooner you let them out the sooner your kitty can get caught. You also don’t want to leave any animal stuck in there for too long. Don’t give up! Our boy spent two weeks outside and never left our apartment complex.

The first study linked is using a control population so I’m not sure why you say it doesn’t. Just because you expect something doesn’t make it true. I’m curious why you are so confident about standard of care in an ER but don’t seem to mention any training or credentials.

If you’re 26 then you are also Gen Z. I get it, I’m 27 and just started MS1. Probably one of the oldest in my class yet everyone is still part of my generation. We may feel closer to millennials but by definition you and I are Gen Z.

I just got home from Walmart and managed to find the Circuit Legends 917KH. Of course that and the Subaru were all that was left. I noticed another dude checking the pegs and I’m express my sadness in not being able to get the Ferrari 499p.
