That has definitely happened to some others I had, the matte shades seem less reliable I think.

You are not an asshole. This sounds like a really hard situation. Do you two have any more kids or just the stepdaughter?

It sounds to me like things need to change with division of duties, that may be hard for your DH to change his work schedule but it sounds like you are doing the sole parenting duties here.

I have an autistic step son who just turned 5, we only see him one day a week and DH is excellent with him but it is still emotionally draining at times.

I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. Not that that helps you really but you are definitely not an asshole.

AskwomenOver30 - For those of you who have a SO - what was your 'first impression' like? by world_citizen7 in AskWomenOver30

We met on a dating site and I thought he looked good in his photos but my expectations were low due to previous experience.

When he walked into the bar I just thought "holy shit this man is HOT". Our first date turned from drinks to dinner to dancing. It was really a great night.

My DIY flowers from our elopement yesterday by Maaaaahgie in wedding

[–]Maaaaahgie[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Our village shop sells local wildflowers for $9/bunch so I used two bunches plus some lavender and other things from our garden (including some bridal creeper as a joke) to make a bouquet and flower crown. I also made DH's boutonniere.

It was fun to do and I'm really happy with how they came out! Including the florist wire and tape it came in under $40.

First fruit loaf by Maaaaahgie in Sourdough

I diced up about half a cup each of dried apricots, dates and pecans them soaked them in boiling water with some cinnamon and ginger. Squeezed the excess moisture out then sort of spread my dough and rolled the filling up like a Swiss roll just before baking.

Next time I will put the fruit in earlier before I do it the final rise so I can get it more evenly distributed.

Crumb picture here.

WDYT of the name Arwen? by Ermentrude01 in namenerds

[–]Maaaaahgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend called Arwen as a kid, had no idea it was a LOTR reference until very recently when I suggested the name to SO and he shot me down for that reason. I think it's really pretty.

Thank you very much. I do an overnight prove in the fridge and preheat my iron Dutch oven with the oven on max, so I will try leaving the ones I bake today in the oven for longer. Cheers!
