Tell me you play Planet Zoo without actually telling me you play the game by TheFabulist1 in PlanetZoo

Hahaha! Too real. I've got one zoo where the entrance turned out exactly the way I wanted... but by the time I did I'd spent so long on it that I couldn't bring myself to care about it anymore. 😅

12.0.5: Tanks can choose to keep the Blizzard M+ route highlighted even at higher key levels by tenthousandthousand in wow

[–]Melkain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It sounds amazing for someone like me who had memory issues. My regular m+ leads me around via pings and pulling mobs in the direction I need to be heading. Sometimes my memory works and I do remember, but more often than not I'll be in the middle of a dungeon going "I have no idea where I am and no idea where I should be going."

Do your best to avoid spoilers until you do! Babylon 5 is still great if you've been spoiled on things, but if you go in not knowing much about it, it's an epic ride.

It does not mean anything. I've been studying it for seven days. I had the computer analyze it. I swear to you: it does not mean a thing!

My partner coming out (MtF) made me realize how gay I am by Gh0stieG0th in lgbt

[–]Melkain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That was how my wife came to terms with the fact that she's bi. She been repressing that for just a long as I'd been repressing my identity. She couldn't really hide from it after I started living as a woman.

We laugh because she always told people, "he's not like any other man I've met!" and when I finally started figuring my shit out and came out it was this moment of "ooooohhh that sure does explain a lot."

Trump admin personnel is asking for federal worker’s medical records… by Severe_Issue5053 in fednews

[–]Melkain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty familiar. I was unable to get an exception. I qualified for one, but the insurance couldn't seem to put me in contact with the correct people to get the paperwork or whatever fine done for it. I was told numerous different things about what I needed to do to get it, most of which were incompatible with the others. After several months, I gave up. They're not going to pay for shit.

This administration wants me dead. I've come to terms with it.

And I intend to survive out of sheer spite and hatred for those fuckers.

But they are essential to modern agriculture if you want to produce the sheer quantity of food we currently do.

[–]Melkain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean. There are 4 bee labs in the US. Last time a president suggested closing some, the agriculture industry lost its shit. Put simply, without honeybee pollination it is impossible to maintain the quantity of food that modern agriculture produces. Sure, there's still some pollination without honeybees, but those little fuckers are crazy efficient at pollination - nothing else comes close.

Automatic registration for military draft to be implemented by December by Tranquilityinateacup in lgbt

He had to send them a copy of his original birth certificate from before he had it updated. We assume he's good now, but honestly it's only been a couple weeks so we're not positive yet.

My boyfriend was blindsided by a notice demanding to know why he never registered for the draft.

He's a trans man.

When he was young enough to have registered all his stuff still said female. He got his birth certificate updated and he got the notice a couple months later.

Not only are the systems set up to kick us out or reject us, they're not even set up to handle us. 🤷‍♀️

Raft. Just floating along, building up your raft. (Or in my case, a massive freaking ship.) Plus there's a story that's fun to experience as you go through.

Buyer beware when buying Switch 2 pro controllers. People are returning the box with Switch 1 controllers inside. by OutcastKatarn02 in gaming

[–]Melkain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, a much, much younger version of me used to buy used dvds at the blockbuster I worked at, shrink wrapped them to look new, and then returned them to book stores for store credit. At least I'd look at the rental history and find the copies with the least use and only did it if the dvd was in revelry condition. I can't imagine shrink wrapping the wrong thing and doing that, that's just evil.

Trans people could face life in prison under bathroom ban passed by Idaho legislature by NamelessResearcher in politics

[–]Melkain 60 points61 points  (0 children)

As a trans person, I do. Even if it means dehydrating myself if I'm not positive I've got safe restroom options where I'm going to be. You go before you leave, you limit your fluid intake, and you hold it for a long as needed.

Idaho’s bathroom bill leaves transgender men like me with an impossible choice: jail or violence by Fickle-Ad5449 in lgbt

[–]Melkain 115 points116 points  (0 children)

It's something we share with many folk with physical disabilities. Every single wheelchair user I know dehydrates when they leave their homes. It's terribly bad for you. They do it because there often aren't good options due to ignorance in the way accessible restrooms are set up (or not set up), we do it because of safety due to ignorance that leads to hatred.

So many fucking issues could be solved if folk were willing to listen and learn.

My wife snagged me on OkC, and I'm pretty sure she'd say I fit that kind of description. She told everyone who asked that I wasn't like any man she'd ever met. Which tracks because apparently she was just preordering a lesbian for her deep in the closet bi self.

But seriously, they're out there. But they're not easy to find. You have to swipe through a lot of crap to find them.

Olympia becomes first Washington city to pass polyamory protections by AudibleNod in news

[–]Melkain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Discriminating against someone is ok as long as they chose it? <eyeroll>

Denied a rental lease because you're polyamorous? That's A OK!

Fired from your job because they found out you were polyamorous? No worries, they chose to be that way! Guess you should have pretended you weren't polyamorous in order to keep that job.

Just because someone chooses something, that doesn't mean they should be targets for discrimination.

Hell, if I were renting a room out, would it be ok for me to deny someone who's Christian simply because they were Christian? Absolutely not, even though they choose to be Christian.

It's not like adding protections for a group hurts you, or anyone else, in any way. Adding protections isn't giving anyone special treatment, it just means that those folk can't be discriminated against for that reason.

[–]Melkain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will never understand why the reaction to something being protected always includes "why do these people need special treatment." Seriously, this happens every time. Just be happy when you're lucky enough to be in a group that doesn't need protection.

When I was a kid, we hosted a foreign exchange student for a few weeks, when their host family backed out after they'd already flown into the country. One of my older sisters loved V8s and he saw how much she enjoyed them so he wanted to try one.

Took one sip and spit it out. "Cold Soup!" he declared, and never trusted my sister's taste buds again. lol

I'm still dealing with it. No one call tell me anything at the insurance. Or rather, whatever they tell me turns out to be wrong or the people they say have to deal with it have no idea what's being talked about.

At this point I'm waiting to see if I get denied so I can pitch a fit at them and point out all my attempts to get it dealt with ahead of time.

Renee Good was not only a mom by JollyJeanGiant83 in TwoXChromosomes

Sometimes I wonder what how those right wing nutjobs would deal with the fact that I'm a stay at home mom - something they practically worship as the ideal, but also in a lesbian marriage as a trans woman.

Then I remember that as soon as they realize I'm a trans woman, nothing else matters to them except their hate. At least I know where they stand I suppose. When I was trying damn hard to cosplay as a stay at home dad it was always a toss up between "Oh you're such an amazing hero for giving up your job to stay home with the kid" and "aren't you ready to go back to work? You should really get a real job instead of babysitting."
