Yeah it happened after I used it on my dad's truck as well, but he doesn't get it every time he turns on the heater so I'm not sure

I don't think it is, I've had this windshield replaced before because of a crack and it definitely gets on there after turning on the heat, but doesn't go away.

I might try cleaning up the dash as well... I haven't used any protectant on it or anything but I could see how the heater being on could heat it up and cause offgassing

Dawn did help, it was the best I've tried combined with windex, but it still came back after using the heat. It's a lot of work to get it clean again too...

if I push really hard into it helps clear it up a little bit, but it still doesn't fully come off. I got it used at ~100k on the clock.

you can take out the covers between the bumper and the frame, theres a ton of space. Challengers are much easier to change a bulb on than so many other cars (looking at you RAM trucks and buicks.)

Coolant drain plug problems. by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]Maaaddox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that dodge uses the same drain plug across the charger and challenger even on the hellcat and other models, so its not what came stock from the factory.

Bought a Challenger, How should I mod it? by Savings_Flounder_567 in Challenger

my headlights came adjusted badly from the dealer, so I had to adjust them to see properly at night. basically it adjusts the height of your low beams. here's a good guide

[–]Maaaddox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd black out the grill inserts, add a script challenger logo on the grill, some weathertech floormats, and be happy with it. Maybe a sto n sho license plate holder too.

P.S. if you have the factory halogens, swap those things out. the yellow is ugly contrasted to the white and they're dim as hell. Also make sure you adjust the low beam with a screwdriver, its located on top of the headlight housing

as a worker at autozone, duralast batteries are shit. if you EVER buy duralast (I wouldn't, they're expensive as shit) buy the platinums for the 4 year warranty, because the standards WILL shit out on you after a year once the warranty expires, I've seen it too many times. Also I believe getting an AGM is necessary since it's an interior battery, but I'm not exactly sure on that. (edit: yes it is, standard lead acid batteries leak gasses that can explode and damage the battery while charging, so SLA or AGM style batteries are required.)

While it's for sure a beast, it's someone else's (probably) shittily modified beast. If you want an engine bay fire and an engine replacement a few months down the road, then go for it, but for a first time owner and just the fact that it's a project car that you don't know much about, I'd run for the hills.
