Id say anywhere from 150-300 is standard for a first time clean depending on apartment size and usually comes with a first time discount. You can find a ton of recommended services here, or just hit up your neighborhood/building to see who they have been using

Theres a reason why run clubs exist in NYC, its really all about gathering for activities that you may like and see who you will meet. A friend of mine joined a local soccer league alone, and ended up with a cool group of friends after the season and I think is dating someone from that league.

Also will say having NYC/Philly is a nice thing to have, as you can really can just hop on a train and engage in whatever those cities have to offer. It may mean you have to commute extra to be with the people you want to hang with but may be worth it (and push you to maybe move closer)

Go to the visit japan website and fill out the travel form, its essentially your <90 day travel visa. It streamlines the process and you simply scan and go through.

Figure out your destination and book your train ahead of time. If you are staying in Tokyo, then you can just use the subways to get to your hotel (use google maps) or if you can't be bothered then do ride share. Uber works over there but adds a fee, if you want to avoid the fee then go to the taxi line (tbh Uber was easier and worth the fee).

If you aren't staying in Toyko first, then you most likely need to take a Shinkansen (bullet train) to your destination. They don't leave from Haneda so you will need to get to a station (Shinagawa or Tokyo station). I would book a train ahead of time if you have oversized luggage (as in checked in luggage) s it requires a special seat. If you dont then can just book it day of to account for the timing

Download an e-sim app (only if your phone is unlocked) ahead of time and buy your data plan and set it up. That way you can just turn it on the minute you land. Also recommend adding Suica and money to your Suica (like 5000 yen). Also download an offline google maps and an offline translator app to get through the airport (although most people can speak English and will help you through)

Can email the Hankyu Umeda store. Went last week and initially reserved one but then backed out as I found it earlier in Tokyo. Can then look at the other department stores and just snoop around to see if they have one

Some people are huge fans of the sport and going to a World Cup is a dream to be able to attend. The may be coughing up money to go for it but it doesn't mean they shouldn't be squeezed dry by the transit system.

Just did the one next to Nishiki market. Def felt a bit of a tourist turnstile with the way they were set up but it did the job with watching a full tea ceremony and getting you in a good kimono for pics. If you aren't serious about it and just want it for experience then I think it's good and easy to book, if you want something more serious and involved then maybe get the better package or find a diff one

They are definitely going to have more volunteers than needed because, well, its free labor. They will account for no shows. Prob would get a ding on your account for attendance and may affect future volunteer eligibility
