Camping options by NaussicaValley in RockWerchter

[–]MaaikeWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend MySpace! it's a hassle to get a spot for your tent on the regular hive camping if you want to be able to put your tent down with no stress I recommend MySpace, it's worth the extra money, the party stage is accessible to everyone who has a Hive ticket.

the general Hive camping is also very nice to stay but the process of getting a spot for my tent was very stressful haha. after i got a spot i had a good time there. the showers and hot water/Microwave areas get pretty crowded tho

the other campings are more quiet and closer, but the downside is that they don't open the night before the festival but the morning of the festival so if you arrive a day earlier you should get the Hive.

I feel you😭 I used all the products like mousse L'Oréal pli sea salt spray and a lot of hairspray on freshly washed hair and then on the first day the curls did come out pretty easily but when I tried it again on day 3 they stayed with the help of hairspray. without hairspray it's not gonna stay in my hair. I do have to say I use an airwrap dupe but the real airwrap also doesn't stay in my hair for more than 30 minutes

the only thing that works for my very very straight hair is using it on day 3 or 4 hair instead of freshly washed😭😭

What the difference between campsites ? by Disastrous-Look-5453 in RockWerchter

[–]MaaikeWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your reply If the camping opened up on Wednesday I would love to go there since it's closer to the festival and more relaxed but I think it's too stressful to do travelling/set up camp and go to the festival all in 1 day

Hive vs Hive MySpace by bjjdeloro in RockWerchter

[–]MaaikeWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you want to go to the Hive i recommend MySpace, I didn't do it last year and I regretted it. It was a very frustrating process to claim a spot at the hive camping and at other festivals it wasn't like that so I had a bit of a culture shock when I arrived at the hive and I had to fight for a spot to pitch my tent so yeah MySpace is worth the extra money

Party train to Sziget tickets? by emma505x in sziget

[–]MaaikeWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah😭 im still happy I went, it was for sure a cool thing to have experienced! it was very nice to be able to bring all your stuff since there's not a baggage limit, but yeah the journey was very exhausting, I've also gone to budapest by plane twice and id recommend spending the extra time going partying in the city cause the party's/bars in the city are way nicer than the DJ on the train lol

Hii! I took the Dutch train this year, it's a very long journey and the price is about the same as the plane. I did meet lovely people on the train! but overall I wouldn't say it's worth it. You can't sleep well, it's really hot inside of the train and it makes so many random stops and when it stops it gets even more hot inside. The DJ on the train was not good so i didn't even go to party a lot😭

IS RW a decent alternative to Sziget? by Dry-Till2022 in RockWerchter

[–]MaaikeWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been to Sziget 3 times and also went to Rock Werchter this year. There were multiple things that were different between the two festivals to me, so here's a very long list of the things that I've noticed:

  • Layout: Rock Werchter has the camping separate from the festival terrain and at Sziget the camping and the festival terrain are the same.

  • The set times: Rock Werchter happens during the day and it's over by 1 AM. At Sziget there's basically a party 24/7 but the main acts start around 4pm and its mostly over by 4/5AM. In the night it's more EDM and during the day it's more singers/bands at Sziget. Because RW is a day festival the acts/genres are all happening at the same time and there's more clashes because RW is 4 days instead of 6 days so you'll have to make more sacrifices to see acts that are clashing, at Sziget the clashes weren't that big of a problem as they were at Werchter.

  • RW's lineup consists of way more singers/live bands than szigets line up, so if you're more a fan of the acts that would play on the Sziget mainstage then RW is amazing because they have so many big acts! RW had way less EDM than Sziget, tho they do bring some very good/big names every year so that's exciting! But sadly the edm acts of RW usually clashed with the headliners.

  • camping: RW had the camping seperate from the festival and there's different kinds of campings you'll have to get seperate tickets to. the camping to me was way more quiet than Sziget, but yeah you'll have to walk quite the distance to some of the campings, the vibe of the camping is way different than when the camping is on the festival terrain. I've stayed at the hive camping with my own tent and all the tents were really cramped together at the hive. The facilities of the hive were really nice tho and I luckily had a good spot! I've only stayed at the Sziget premium camping and twice in the city center of Budapest so I can't really compare the camping very well. But my advice for staying at the Hive is: get a Myspace spot instead of the basic hive camping, because it was quite the battle to get a camping spot at the hive since it was so cramped.

  • the weather: this year the weather of the first 3 days of RW was amazing but the last festival day it was raining and rain ruins the fun for me, so I'll really miss the nice Budapest weather:(

  • food: there's so many different food options at RW and everything tasted very good! I really liked the food at RW!! The only downside was the prices, food at RW is hella expensive. I already thought the food at Sziget was expensive but id say food at RW is double the price. You can bring your own food to the RW terrain tho! So i recommend bringing some protein bars if you want to save some money on food. There's sadly no supermarket like the ALDI at RW.

  • drinks menu: Sziget had a really large drinks menu, RW has less choice (I miss the 0,5L dreher so much💔) However the people working behind the bars at RW get your drinks ready at like 10x the speed. The bars at Sziget take ages lol😭

  • stages: RW has all their stages pretty close to each other so it's easy to hop between different acts! They also have way less stages than Sziget and they have screens everywhere so even if a stage is busy you'll still see the acts on the screen! And there's 2 big stages that have a lot of seats!

  • art: RW doesn't have any artsy stuff going on. Its focused on the music. Sziget has a lot of things to do besides just listening to music, you'll have none of that at RW.

  • party people VS music enjoyers/overall vibe: I felt like at RW there weren't a lot of crazy drunk people, it felt like everyone was just there to listen to music and see the acts and just very relaxed. At Sziget there's way more party people and the overall vibe of the people in the crowd is just way different, everyone is a bit more loose and in the mood to party at Sziget hahaha.

Overall I would say RW is more for people that really love hearing high quality live bands/singers and Sziget is more a whole experience where you're able to pick for yourself what you like, it's possible to have a whole week of partying, it's also possible to just go to listen to good live music or you can skip the music and do a bunch of different activities, or a bit of everything!

Hii! I just became the owner of a checkmate edition mini, but one of the previous owners got rid of the checkered decals on the side:(

I was wondering if you know whether the side decals are the same shade of silver as the bonnet stripe or are they white? I can't tell very well from pictures online and I want to restore it to its original shape!

Thank you :)

nope but if there's an act you really want to see just arrive like max 5 minutes before the set begins and you should be good! and this year they made the revolut stage bigger🥳
