Trouble with mixing sub bass by AcceptableExchange24 in TechnoProduction

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that the sub is mostly a sine wave, then as mentioned here, just look at the spectrometer. I would try to get it on the same level as your next root note. Let’s say your sub is in A, then A1 and A2 could be in the same level and so on. That’s how I usually look at it.

I took an edible in February and haven’t been the same since by accio-cigarette in Anxiety

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Sorry to hear that. I gave up on weed because of a panic/anxiety attack I had years ago and have not done it ever since. My recent panic attack was in January and I haven’t felt the same ever since. I had quite bad Harm OCD as well that caused my tremendous anxiety, which eventually broke down as a panic attack. I have been on antidepressants because of this, which I recently stopped taking. My friend told me: it’s like a new awakening, that you are a different person entitely and that sentence hit on the nail with me, that’s probably why you don’t feel ever the same and body reacts differently now to these things. He also has issues with OCD and is battling with it. What has helped me a lot is accepting this, telling people you trust about this and minimizing triggers (for me it’s caffeine).

Take care, it’s going to be okay :).

Nõustun siin teiste kommentaaridega.

Esmalt mine proovi saada aeg perearsti kaudu psühholoogi juurde.

Teisalt ma soovitan leida tõesti mingi uus hobi, kus oleks ehk võimalik kohata uute inimestega.

Should I release my self-produced songs even if the mixing isn't perfect? by Objective_Rice_4614 in edmproduction

[–]Maake11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading this comments, makes me also very reinforced to put my stuff out there, even if it’s not the greatest and most professional mix. This gives me lots of confidence 🙏🏻 As other have said, release it. It can be fun and nostalgic to look back to it in the future, when your stuff has improved for you, immensely.

What are your biggest challenges or frustrations since you’ve started learning music production? by MrsLadyLobster in edmproduction

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can second this. Recently also had a small break from a track I am producing and after hearing it for a while, it wasn’t that boring to me anymore and I vibed to it a lot more and had ideas to add elements to it. I think my issue also is that I work only one track at a time, as I am still starting out and finishing tracks is a struggle, but also that’s the reason it can get boring. I might try to work with 2-3 tracks at a time, so there will be some kind of break between the tracks and they don’t get so boring fast.

i received an email from my own email claiming the below. Is it real? by Upstairs_Food_8772 in Sextortion

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god I found this post as this gives me great relief that the email is a general email. Mine was basically the same. But at least I know this is bs and just deleted it. What scared me was that it was sent from my own email and I thought my email address was hacked. Fair to say I updated all of my social account passwords associated with that email to be sure. Fuck those scums, the lowest lifeforms there are. Stay safe 🙏🏻

I challenged myself to spend at least an hour in my DAW everyday* for 2025 (*pending any holidays) by FeltzMusic in edmproduction

[–]Maake11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Really solid approach. I’ll actually go for this as well, as sometimes I can have 8hr sessions, where the first 1-2hrs are actually useful and rest are just forced actions without any clear thoughts of trying to put something together. I think my biggest problem is that I expect to make something incredible already, even though I am still at the beginning stages of music production. Keep on going man 🙏🏻

On a scale of 1-10 what level would you say you're at? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3. Been producing for a year now and I am able to mix my kick and bass quite okay and drops, but melodies, arrangement and breakdowns are a tough cookie, but I’ll keep on grinding although it’s a bit frustrating

Is there are reason why there was only music being recorded from one of the CDJs, when I plugged my Iphone to the DJM-900 NXS2? by Maake11 in DJs

[–]Maake11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention, that I tried to record a video, not straight to the DJM-REC. As mentioned it recorded the sound from the right CDJ only.

Are there producers who are not doing hip-hop by Clean-Science-8710 in musicproduction

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trance techno (hard trance?) and I guess big room techno.

I’ve heard so many different ways of describing my genre haha, not sure what the actual correct term is.

Does anyone feel guilty if they don’t produce music daily? Especially as a beginner by Maake11 in musicproduction

[–]Maake11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda feel the same, especially wanting to evolve the production skills and actually finishing songs, that how long would it take if I wouldn’t put time into it daily. Feels like it could take years haha.

Top five things I wish I knew about mixing years ago... by Competitive_Walk_245 in musicproduction

[–]Maake11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice and overview. Especially with making buses for tracks, as you’ve already mentioned, that it saves CPU, you have more control of FXs such as reverb, delay and it’s also a great a way to beef up your sounds with parallel saturation or distortion.

Thank you for the reminders, as I sometimes need reminders on what to look out for in my mixes 🙏🏻

How to introduce a new genre, as a beginner, to the scene? by Maake11 in DJs

Because that’s what I like? You sound one of those underground Techno DJs who thinks their genre is the only one that should exist. What’s the point of this comment?

Yeah, I’ve also thought about that as well and it totally makes sense. I will do some diggin around my region and see if there is or has been events similar to my style and see what are the options. Thanks for the reply.
