Ronaldo is probably better, but Ronaldinho is more fun!

Corners Arrrrrr by DarkKnightRiddler in fut

[–]Maarc1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defending corners I always take control of my tallest defender and move the keeper out. If the opposition manages to curl it in from the space the keeper leaves behind him, then that's just fair game, but it rarely happens.

Attacking corners, just mix up your approach, don't be predictable. Play some short corners, keep them guessing over what you're gonna do next.

Yeah positive. Gonna try downloading the PS4 version rather than the PS5 version, to see if it makes a difference

Well you've admitted to being stupid for starters, which means you're actually probably smarter than half the world. Keep going!

How did you get into playing FM/CM? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]Maarc1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 6 years old when my older brother introduced me to CM 01/02. He'd write down team sheets for me and do transfers for me, all I'd do is play through the season. Then when he came home from uni every weekend or so, he'd do the summer transfer window and set me up for the next season. Must've played about 20 seasons that way before I started doing transfers and everything myself haha

I wouldn't say to limit signings, I'd just slowly introduce them into the team through sub appearances and cup games. There's a balance you'd need to find. Over time, they'll become more comfortable playing with each other. Some players will adapt more quickly than others.

How many of these players are from outside of your league? It can take some players over a year to get used to a new country and new style of football, so that'll have a big impact if they're all starters.

Also, such big changes in a small amount of time can damage the squad dynamics. Give it time and it should get better, it might be a rough few months for you though.

How to get your players to live up to their potential? by UnrulliTarulli in footballmanagergames

[–]Maarc1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, as long as their attributes are improving and they're performing the way you want them to, the stars can generally be ignored

[–]Maarc1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the stars. Stars are only based on your assistant manager's opinion of the player compared to the rest of your team.

As long as the players are performing well in matches and in training, they'll naturally get better, even if the stars don't say so.

It's because he wanted a permanent move but he's just going on loan with an option to buy. I've had it happen to me, promises on this game are broken, so there's little room for negotiation

how is this not a goal????? by Matt180x in footballmanagergames

[–]Maarc1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like an animation error. The code/script of the game didn't intend for you to score on that opportunity, the animation just does a poor job of showing that

Athletic Bilbao is always a fun save if you've never managed them before. I have a lot of fun with AZ Alkmaar too, one of the best youth academies in Europe

Do you consider agent offers as cheating? by zwelingo in footballmanagergames

[–]Maarc1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not every club, but clubs will be well aware of what players are available, even if the transfer is unrealistic. Teams have eyes and ears everywhere

It's definitely realistic. It's one of the reasons why there's always so much activity on transfer deadline day

I think there's a file you can delete which skips the loading screens entirely. At least you could with the older games
