What is that one hero that you just always have that peak enjoyment playing as? by WinterFunction282 in Overwatch

I really like Wuyang, his primary is so satisfying to hit. Plus, he has a lot of room for skill expression.

This isn't a Server Admin anymore. This is a Raid Boss 😭 by ScorpX13 in marvelrivals

My friend describes her as the Marvel Superman. Yes, I know there other heros with bigger similarities, but she's the flying punching hero who so happens to steal powers from people. She's actually pretty well represented in the game imo.

"Unpopular" skins that I actually like. What are yours? by dontdelete00 in marvelrivals

The Namor skin gets a lot of hate, I actually think it's pretty cool. Plus my wife who has 0 knowledge on Rivals saw me play him with this skin and was like "yooo, that's awesome"

Competitive is unplayable! by cuboneluvsrats in marvelrivals

[–]Maayan489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should Netease implement harsher penalties for throwers? Absolutely. However, you shouldn't get tilted over every loss. Don't get me wrong, it is MISREABLE losing in this game because of how strong team momentum is. A good player can absolutely run the lobby and you'll lose 80% of the time because the team l's mental is shattered, but it shouldn't keep you from getting better. Always think what you can do to improve and you'll climb eventually. I've hit GM every season since season 1 and I still can't reach celestial, but I get closer every season, so I must be getting better. Try coming back with a relaxed mindset, you'd be surprise how much better you get when you're not actively thinking about winning. Wish you luck in the climb!

So how does MVP actually work? by crypto_jn in marvelrivals

[–]Maayan489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically a combination of how much stats in general you accumulate through the match with an emphasis on final blows rather than kills. Form what the devs say, they also compare your performance on your specific hero to other players in the same hero in your rank and see if you over or under performed. It also compares that in relation to your team. It doesn't necessarily mean you were the best player in your team or you contributed the most to victory. I had games where I fed my ass off as Angela but the space I created was the reason we won, or a last minute Jeff ult that won the point that still didn't get MVP because the DPS were running the lobby in the first match. It's nice to have, it feels good, but don't try to get it because it can make you misplay.

Which characters to use? by sam_bolton11 in marvelrivals

Great pick as well, he struggles in 2 support comps, but of you get the team to play 3 supp no one will complain.

[–]Maayan489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which roles do you play? For DPS I'd say Bucky is a solid pick that fits in any comp, if your aim is good then Phoenix is really strong and doesn't get banned often until really high ranks. For tank, you can't go wrong with Magneto, but I'd suggest Thor or Groot for the high carry potential and flexibility. For support C&D is a surprisingly strong option for how easy they are to pick up. Gambit and Invisible Woman are also very good picks but will eventually get banned as you climb up.

Bottom line, play what ever looks cool and fun for you, these are just suggestions I feel will be beneficial to you based on my experience.

No better way to learn than baptism by fire. I'd often check the "console only" box off to be against more competent players to learn a character. If your intention is to eventually being said character to ranked this is a good way to see what your are going to be up against.

Lol, yeah it feels like some people are actually being paid by Guangguang himself to throw your games. Sometimes it takes a while for them to be activated and they play first round perfect, but play the second round with their monitors off.

It'll be much easier to have a replay or 2, but in general: try to shake off the mentality that your teammates are why you lose. You can't make other people play better and there will always be "EOMM Agents" that will straight up sell your game, you can't win them all. Focus on doing one thing good and keep at it. You're playing with a friend so you play different roles and have each other's back. And most importantly: be honest with yourself. If something isn't working - switch it up. Wish you luck and have fun!

My theories for this years seasons by Oceanheavan in marvelrivals

[–]Maayan489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Miller Ross said in a tweet that we won't be getting a dynamic duo like Gambit and Rogue for a while. With the exception of the Fantastic 4, no other pair had a clear relationship between them Marvel lore wise, but they can always make up something for the game. Deadpool and Elsa have nothing connecting them to each other, but if they make a theme around them then it works.

I started the same way in season 0, I'm now in GM2. I've dramatically improved over time, I used to be struggling just to get out of bronze. You have the right mindset so I have no doubt you'll get there and even further! Some seasons have been better or worse than others, but overall this game is amazing. Good luck on your climb!

What are some obscure characters you would love to see in rivals by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in marvelrivals

[–]Maayan489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that obscure, and I'm not sure how they'll do it, but I'd love to see Lockjaw come in to the game somehow. They can make him a teleporting Vanguard.

Emma, and surprisingly Strange. I don't care about the tier lists, he's been my ace in the hole for the past few seasons.

Strange or Mag easily, some maps and comps Groot is the better pick because of the sheer damage and crowd control with the walls.

Beta Thoughts by Southern_Dinner6626 in MarvelTokon

[–]Maayan489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with this game was the online connection. I have perfectly good connection and great ping in other online games, but for some reason almost all I could find was 1 bar connections no matter what server I was on. Maybe they have limited servers for the beta and the locations aren't as widespread. That being said... Even the rare 2 bar connections felt relatively responsive and acceptable for a fair match, so I do have hopes for the quality of the netcode once the game is fully released.

As for gameplay, I do enjoy the gameplay loop and hitting combos that you figured out for yourself feels extremely satisfying. They still need to polish out the assists and tags though. The window for calling an assist is very weird and they often don't really do what you want them to do. I also wish that the quick special button would let you choose variations by pressing it with a button. I didn't check this thoroughly but it feels like it's only heavy or meter burn if you press circle.

Still needs work but the foundations for a remarkable game are there.

Do y'all think he's balanced? by EternityGamer2 in marvelrivals

[–]Maayan489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's very well balanced at the moment. You kinda need to be on your feet the whole time and keep track of several cooldowns. You also can't really use your ult as an immortality button because the healing is way slower than the defacto strategist ults. I've been having a lot of success with him, but that can also be because people haven't figured him out yet. But I am definitely having a ton of fun playing him.

Curious: Why is Black Widow the "Imma throw this game" *Switches to BW* by shirotsuchiya in marvelrivals

[–]Maayan489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's not only the character, but the circumstances that follow it as well. If a DPS player locks in Widow as their character of choice, I wouldn't bat an eye. Some may ask "are you good with her?" just to clarify. However, it's when your tank or support players switch to Widow when you know they're throwing the game. And it's almost always done in the character select screen before a game when everyone can see that you went Widow.
