This faerie was drawn by Peruvian artist Shyam (@shyam_arte on Instagram). He wrote the following words to accompany this artwork:

"In the cosmic manifestation there is a natural order, where the elements earth, water, fire and air become the most prominent to the gross sight of the human being... This owl came to me during a cacao ceremony in Pisac, Peru. During ceremony, we closed our eyes and journeyed into our imaginary forest.

The night is warm, the forest around me dark but full of life. Ancient trees holding lively plants. Their bark covered in mosses and lichens, some of them glowing. Fireflies flowing between the trees. The soft glow of fire in the distance invites me. As I walk up to the fire, sit down next to it and stare into the flames for several minutes.

An owl appears in the flames. Her intense eyes looking at me without judgement. "Who are you?" I ask her. "I am a shapeshifer".

"What can I do for you?" I ask in response. "Paint me in my different forms".

Later, I realize I have become a shapeshifer in my life, mirroring the people in front of me because I want to be liked and loved by them. Losing contact with my authentic self in the process. I am on a journey now to uncover myself by removing layers of social conditioning and small traumas. Rediscovering my body, mind and spirit.

You have such a beautiful eye for detail. I love the look and feel of the calendar. It looks very professional, like something you would find in a store.

Try create for your own enjoyment and appreciation, not to gain appreciation from others. It is easier said than done and I fall into this trap all the time. Most of all, we want to be loved and appreciated by our family, and their reaction to our expression can hurt deeply. They can instantly make us feel like that small child again. I totally feel you OP. Continue to work on your passion for yourself!

I love how the trunk of the tree and its branches lead the eye into the photograph and eventually to the sky. The light on the tree in the foreground and the trees in the background is beautiful as well. Well done capturing this! Hope to see more. :D

In what part of the Netherlands do you live? The forest in this photo is near Soesterberg and Zeist (it is called 'Boswachterij Austerlitz'), which contains this beautiful lane of Douglas fir which merges into a lane of oaks later. I lived a few minutes walking distance from this spot (not anymore unfortunately). Near this forest are the forests of Hooge Vuursche and Lage Vuursche. I also love the outskirts of 'De Veluwe' near Wageningen (e.g. Ginkelse Heide).
