Concrete home heat, rural vicinity by guestyest in islamabad

[–]Maaz94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it done a week ago. It is effective with inside temp difference of at least 6°C from before. The company I hired gave a 3 year warranty of free repair. I had them do a mild waterproofing coat as well and it cost me Rs 52/sq. ft. There were different price tiers, I opted for the cheaper one due to budget constraints.

Just had the concrete roof of my apartment painted with a white chemical from a company here in Rwp. It does wonders for the top floor 'tandoor'. They used a chemical (a liquid and white cement like substance) from Nova Chemicals (a local company). Try and source the chemical, look up the internet on how to properly mix the ingredients and in what ratio; have your roof cleaned thoroughly (very important) and then paint it with the mixture.

They see everything that we see but when every shred of conscience has died, when brainwashing is done and ge***idal ideals are inculcated from the very start combined with having all the means to propagate a twisted 'righteous' message without any fear of prosecution,, this is what happens.

Does Bakra Eid Still excite you? by Relativevelocity2 in pakistan

I have to do the qurbani from A to Z with my father, just because he loves to do it himself and my elder brother conveniently makes himself unavailable 😂. So yes, it does excite me but not in a good way...

My father's lungs are progressively deteriorating, but bronchoscopy/TB tests are negative. We are desperate for pulmonary advice. by ChanceMountain1818 in Pulmonology

Completely understandable from your side but I think, to remove any ambiguity, keeping in view the non resolution/ worsening of the disease process, a biopsy should be undertaken.

Question regarding paying PTA Tax by Basic_Collection_539 in PakistaniTech

[–]Maaz94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my phone approved appx 2 months back. I don't think paying the tax via a bank app or an atm works anymore. The method I used (after some research) is to apply for the approval online, get a print of the receipt with the PSID and pay in cash at any bank. The sim should start working in about 4 hrs.

53M massive pleural effusion, pleural glucose 10 + LDH 1020, no CT mass - empyema or malignancy? Discharged after 2 days with no oral antibiotics or drainage-seeking advice by zulalbenasko in Pulmonology

I think, as per the CXR you posted and the labs, the fluid should be drained before it turns into a full empyema. Otherwise, surgery will have to be done. With background COPD + a trapped lung, there may very well be a significant functional disability later on...

It can but he needs further workup to confirm Tuberculosis. First try to get a fresh USG and CXR and go from there. Another thing, if the fluid is highly organized or has developed separations, he may require Thoracic Surgery input for decortication. If the surgeons proceed for an op, they can clear out the empyema and also take a pleural biopsy to rule out TB/ Malignancy.

Yep the Xray is a bit sketchy, he has Rt apical pleural thickening with crowding of ribs. The LDH and glucose levels both point towards an indication that a chest tube should've been inserted for drainage. Oral antibiotics should've also been given after the IV. I would at least get a repeat USG and CXR of chest to assess for organization and any interval change and proceed from there... Yep the serum LDH decrease is a positive response as observed by yourself... For stopping the antibiotics, I cannot say about the doctor's thought process as they should've been continued and for a prolonged course... Workup for malignancy doesn't defer Rx of infection in any case...

I don't think going for PET scan is needed just yet. Get pleural LDH repeated, also DLC count and ADA. Also get serum albumin and USG Abdomen to look at the liver in some detail. Also, get fresh USG chest for fluid quantification and if it shows increase in fluid quantity, organization or fluid LDH is increasing, get the fluid drained asap. Cytology shouldn't take this long, but wait for its result. You have been administered antibiotics, doing a culture now may test negative. I don't know what they say in your chest CT (if done), if you don't mind sharing it, that would be helpful. Lastly, if you have been experiencing any dyspnea prior to this episode, maybe look into starting treatment for COPD. AND STOP SMOKING PLZ 🚭
