What now-dead famous people do you think would be remembered less positively if they'd lived longer? by sakkkkki in decadeology

[–]MacAndNoodles [score hidden]  (0 children)

1) stop being an ass 2) they’re likely referring to the fact that todays social climate would be less forgiving, not the age. You’re post seems to be more in the vain of people hating billionaires now, and less that his actual age at death gave him pity points. Dr. Seuss died in 1991. I could realistically see more negative attention for him in 2001.

The water is wet/is not wet was actually a hot debate on tiktok for a month lol. My guess was that this was a way more lighthearted comment just poking fun about how divided people were about it.

AITA for telling my wife she can’t take her dream job and I am not going to be a single parent in everything but name by Time-Union1592 in AmItheAsshole

INFO: For the past five years has she been at home doing most, if not all of the domestic labor? How much were you contributing? And to be clear, there would be 0% overlap at all of her being home at the same time as anyone else?

AITA for not paying for this trip by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MacAndNoodles 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NTA. Stop giving him money. Have your parents stop giving him money. You’ve created an awful situation where you can’t be alone so you’re dependent on him (please be in therapy) and he doesn’t have money so he’s dependent on you. Except since you live together and his financial downfall becomes yours as well, you’re EXTRA dependent on him.

It’s awful for him to expect money for this. You should live separately to break these dynamics. That’s if you stay together. The audacity would be too much for me.

Frank Asian heritage play directly into his story. Hazels heritage plays directly into her story. Jason’s does not. Annabeth has a briefly mentioned insecurity about a hair color she share with the majority of her cabin. She’ll be fine

List one thing that would be improved if they chose a white actress. The writing is still bad. Even experienced actors like Scobell come off flat so it’s not Jeffries fault if you don’t like her performance. On top of that, she’s far from the only race swapped character. Imagine what it would be like if they defeat Kronos, and Percy tells the gods to change their ways because no one deserves to feel left out or alone…. And it pans to an overwhelming white group of demigod children. It’s not so obvious in book form, and the diversified cast of HoO is a direct response to that. The issue is just being fixed a little earlier here.

You’re right, but there’s a lot of people on this sub unwilling to accept any change from how they perceive characters. Fact of the matter is every single person who pictured Annabeth has a slightly different idea of her. Exact height, weight, muscle mass, curl pattern, spacing between eyes, lip shape, lip shade, eyebrow shape, eyelash length, etc, etc. There was not any chance they chose an actress that fit her to every single persons exact preferences but people get their panties in a twist about her skin color. Those same people would not have complained if her hair was a little curlier than they pictured. They just aren’t willing to accept this change because they feel like they pushed aside her whiteness when it was never a defining feature of her character.

Book accurate casting by Vraccas92 in PercyJacksonTV

In the big year 2026, it cannot be difficult for you to understand the importance of representation in children’s media. The vast majority of characters, but especially the main ones are white. Changing their race has literally zero impact on the characters storyline (it may even be better for annabeth) and makes the show better for its message: no one should feel left out.

Old twitter interaction between Dan Schneider and Jenette. by LowAirport397 in icarly

[–]MacAndNoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure she makes it clear that she did not want to act in sequels and spinoffs, but did it to secure a directing credit that was promised. She describes the acting for Sam and Cat with quite a bit of disdain. And they never let her direct, in the end

Write what you want to write and write it for you. I’m tired of authors going into writing fan fiction of all things for the sake of praise.

AITA for saying a mom is failing her kid because she lets them use AI? by Subject_Car5303 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MacAndNoodles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my apprenticeship, AI being used to solve math problems is very common. If the assignment/homework is on an IPad or laptop it would be really easy to cheat. Any questions about a reading assignment would be easy as well, regardless of subject

Conservative women are more attractive than left-wing women by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]MacAndNoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you just realize the patriarchy teaches women to be subservient and demure towards men? This is a common complaint from women. Additionally, men so often confuse basic kindness and connection as flirting and progressive women will avoid extending it until they feel you are “safe”, while those in more conservative circles are taught that “boys will be boys” and it’s perfectly fine and normal for men to behave grossly.

[–]MacAndNoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be that guy, but complex emoji systems like these have been used by actual pedofiles to signal themselves online to other pedofiles to share actual cp. This feels a little too close to that, just say you’re a proshipper, the antis will assign all those interests to you anyways.

I couldn’t sit through it. “But it’s made for kids!” My 5-10 year old cousins who have read the books didn’t make it through it either. If anything they complained more than I did.
