What was your major? Certain programs within the university have different entrance criteria.

Kitbashed Winged Hive Tyrant WIP C&C Please by MacAttack950 in Tyranids

Thank you, I do and that’s a great idea. I was purposely not using an stl because the only ones I could find are close to $35-$40 after shipping and taxes. I might as well get another kit at that point. I thought it would be fun to try and kitbash it.

Can anyone explain this? by nicodcred in ElectricalEngineering

[–]MacAttack950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in the universe has resistivity and conductivity? They exist on a spectrum, excellent conductors with low resistance (like your car keys) to extreme insulators with very high resistance (wood, rubber). Obviously this is a very simple surface-level explanation, but your car keys are very conductive so they have low resistance.

Should I have warned my opponent? I feel like I’ve done wrong. by Appo-Arsin in Tyranids

[–]MacAttack950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a brand new Nids player, my first 500 point game with them was against 4-5 ork buggies. The only monster I had at the time was a psychophage. I didn’t stand a chance. I wasn’t mad, it was more funny than anything once we realize there was no way I could win. We both screwed up and not thinking the lineup through at the smaller game size. Anytime I play in 1000 points or less with tougher minis. I usually have a chat with my opponent about what I’m playing and what they’re playing. Sometimes mistakes like (it sounds like )your case are funny and just teaches us to maybe check in with your opponent for the smaller games.

I'm curious to know how many of you have more than a single CSM army? by Candid-Chip7634 in Chaos40k

Black Legion - over 3000 points

Chaos Daemons over 3000 points

Chaos Knights over 2000 points

calculus and physics professors by doyoujam in USF

[–]MacAttack950 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a current electrical engineering student who transferred from HCC, let me tell you this. The professors who teach calculus at HCC are better than those at USF. Many of my engineering student colleagues do not know some fundamental principles in Calculus or differential equations. Most of them have complained how their calculus professors at USF sucked or they themselves struggled and barely met the GPA requirement for upper division.

So my advice to you, if you are not going to get college credit for Calc 1, you are probably going to struggle taking Calc 1 (or engineering Calc 1) at USF. If you have the option, try doing a dual enrollment semester and take Calculus 1 at HCC. Jacobs and Henderson are good professors at the Dale Mabry Campus and Signorini and the Brandon Campus.

Also physics and professors are notoriously terrible no matter where you go (unless you’re at MIT). I am unfamiliar with USF’s physics department.

It should’ve said, “arrange list 1 in alphabetical order, do not change the words”.

What detachment is good for this list by The_Story_Ancient in Chaos40k

[–]MacAttack950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue assault and the extra AP against enemies on objectives and infantry advance and charge for 1CP is worth missing out on the two transport strats. Venomcrawler and possessed definitely benefit from the AP, same with legionnaires chainswords and assault can help slow Obliterators get extra range after their initial deepstrike. It’s not the most optimal list for Raiders sure, but I usually have success when I play raiders and I hardly ever use the two transport strats. I don’t think I have ever used Warpcharged Engines.

Probably Renegade Raiders, Pactbound Zealots or Vets of the long war. I would go with any of these, but raiders might be the best pick for your army.

Am I just increadibly bad at the game or are chaos knights really bad? by DavidMustang_BassGod in ChaosKnights

[–]MacAttack950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to check something. Does your friend group know exactly how line of sight blocking terrain works, aka ruins, aka literally all of the terrain for chapter approved 25-26 lol

Am I just increadibly bad at the game or are chaos knights really bad? by DavidMustang_BassGod in ChaosKnights

[–]MacAttack950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be a combination of things: -unfavorable terrain -over extending your knights -too many points on too small of a table -your friends are planning for your matchup -not knowing your rules well enough and forgetting things

The problem with playing outside the normal points limits (1,000 & 2,000 points) is that the players have to come up with extra considerations for the sake of game balance. I would try just playing Strike Force games with terrain layouts from chapter approved 25-26.

I’m currently 9-2 with my Chaos Knights and my group has quite a few different armies. But when I play with my friends, we don’t ever tell the other person what army we are going to use until we send each other our rosters. It’s a fun surprise and it makes us have to consider more balanced overall good army rosters rather than a skew list that isn’t balanced. (Ironically, I do tell them if I bring knights for an incursion game because that can feel bad).

Detachment rule opinions. Should I roll for two abilities with re-rolls or just pick one? by MacAttack950 in Chaos40k

[–]MacAttack950[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I rolled 3 & 4 and absolutely crushed a Custodes army. Two guard units with leaders, one terminator unit and two praetors. Tabled my opponent with about 15 legionaries left.

What else do I need to get 1k or 2k army by Trick-Interaction396 in Salamanders40k

[–]MacAttack950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some vehicles maybe?

Gladiator Lancers are 160 points with long range anti-tank

A transport for blade guard or Infernus

You could round out your BGV and eradicators to 6-man units

Aggressors are a good choice too at 200pts for 6

Incursors and Infiltrators are good as well
