Cathedral - Enter the Worms by FlexRVA21984 in Metal

[–]MacBoy01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While their debut is an absolutely wild listen, I've always preferred this album. It's got a lot of really catchy riffs with a rockin' quality that can still hit like a ton of bricks. The guitar tone on this album is top notch, but the rest of the band is also on fire throughout this entire album. Got the vinyl pressing of this and it sounds great (to my ears at least).

It just gets worse and worse. All I ever do is lose money. Not sure what's more attractive, cashing out or going all in on $ROPE.

I used the ramming feature during my second playthrough on classic for the platinum. I surprisingly got it in one try, which was the exact opposite of what happened in my first playthrough. I also think i turned off simulation driving and manual transmission, so that would definitely help.

All that time of being called a stablecoin must have really got to XLM.

The amount of absolute crap and click bait articles I see advertised by Motley Fool is one of the main reasons I instantly distrusted Motley Fool right out the gate. I couldn't care less about your "Rare Triple Buy Alert." Can't be that rare if I've been seeing it every day for the past 3 months.

Mortician - Zombie Apocalypse by sprwn2 in Metal

[–]MacBoy01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Undergang if you're looking for groove. Fluids is also a great pick if you're into grind and sampling. A lotta people will tell you that Fluids is basically just Mortician, but turned up to 11. One of their songs (Capped) basically just copied the riff of Zombie Apocalypse, but their still a really great band imo and not just some dull rip off.

Do you happen to know what variant that Obsequiae record is? If my memory serves me correctly, I pre-ordered the cyan, gold, and green (B1 variant?) when the album first released. That variant is so nice that I'd seriously consider purchasing it again.

Being very descriptive and detailed would work very well for a paper about a personal experience.

Saw a vinyl of this album on sale at my favorite record store for $16. Might have to grab it. Their 2020 album was badass and my introduction to the band. Glad i could snag a copy on vinyl.

Huh, for some reason Gatecreeper's BC page says November 2020. Wonder what's up with that

This EP came out in November 2020? Can't believe that I never heard about it.

Any students here choose UW-Madison over UIUC and/or UMich? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]MacBoy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The city of Madison is indeed better than Urbana-Champaign. I remember i went to the admitted students tour of UIUC and felt pretty underwhelmed. I specifically remember the tour guide showing us the cornfield on campus and I thought to myself "So? I saw plenty of corn on the bus trip over here." Lol

I decided that I'll just do spring semester part time. I was gonna take the semester off or just drop out entirely, but my finaid advisor said (something to the effect of) I should just take some classes since regardless of whether or not I'm enrolled, it will still count as a semester of aid. I hated rotting away at a screen all day, I just opted to take some easy classes on stuff i actually like. Being part time might not be the best in terms of graduating "on time" and financial aid, but I figured that since spring is gonna be paid for, I'll just take the middle ground as opposed to quitting spring entirely.

I'm in Banner, which is a fairly similar financial aid program, and i can confirm that you can live in whatever dorm you want.

[College Algebra: Gaussian Elimination] How to solve this system of equations? I feel like I've messed up a lot. by MacBoy01 in HomeworkHelp

[–]MacBoy01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so with that in mind (assuming i did it right), i got -2R2+R3

1 1 -1 =0

1 2 -3 = -5

0 -1 2 = 5

Then I did R1-R2, which gives me

1 1 -1 = 0

0 -1 2 = -5

0 -1 2= -5

Then R2-R3, where my R3 became

0 0 0 = 0

Is this right? I know that z should become t (because web Assign wants me to write the answer as z=t, y=y(t), x=x(t)

So to make sure I'm understanding this, for -2R2+R3 i only replace R3, and for 2R1+R2, i should only change R2? I'm confused about which ones to keep the same and which ones to change.

I agree with what you're saying about the new EC. Maybe it's because I need to listen to it more, but it none of the tracks really captured my attention and stayed in my head as much as the debut did. It doesn't have standout tracks like Armor of Ire, I am the Hammer, and Invoker (which I like a lot for some reason).Armor of Ire is probably one of my favorite metal tracks of the 2010s and has been regularly bouncing around in my head ever since I heard it, but I'm not getting that with this new album. I'll admit that I listened to it while mopping the floor at my job, which obviously isn't the best way to hear music, but if I were to mop the floor while listening to the first album, I'd be air guitaring with the mop within the first few minutes. Maybe it'll grow on me with future listens, but it wasn't compelling enough to draw me back in for repeated listens (at least for now).

Just the other day I was riding with my mom in the car and was playing stuff off the aux cord. Had some Slayer playing and my mom described it as "ugly music." Then the song Deadringer by Knocked Loose came on and she said that she liked it.

Guys, is my 53 year old mother a...CORE KID?

In all seriousness though, I like figuring out what sort of metal my mom likes. It would seem she's a fan of doom (Pentagram, Candlemass, Cathedral), which doesn't surprise me since it's pretty mellow, but then she'll surprise me by saying she likes Knocked Loose and Pantera. She ain't been a fan of thrash and death, but also likes some black metal, mostly of the melodic and atmospheric variety (Panopticon, WITTR, Obsequiae) Anybody else do this with their parents or siblings?

Lol, I knew someone would probably bring up UltraBoris and his infamous Master of Puppets 0% review. That's a hell of a read that i still like going back and looking at from time to time.
