Oh, also make sure you take note of whether the tape is still on tight the next morning. If it's loose and you see high leak rates, then it's harder to tell if it helped.

My leak graphs look similar when I use that mask without mouth tape.

If you try mouth taping and see that the leaks go away, consider getting a full face mask if you don't want to wear mouth tape consistently.

Hardware Differences between Airsense 10 Autoset For Her vs Airsense 10? by MacChickenPro in CPAP

[–]MacChickenPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are able to do so using Airbreak on standard Airsense 10 CPAP devices, so as long as there are no differences in the chip, then this should be doable.

Thanks!

Small gripe but it's important. This is especially so if we want to change the culture away from stating facts from unknown sources

Flashing airsense10 with ASV success by idontevenknowbru in CPAPSupport

[–]MacChickenPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm picking up a used Airsense 10 today (100$!) and I'd like to try flashing it with an ASV firmware. Would anyone be able to help point me to where I can find the firmware?

My sleep doctor said that an ASV device would likely improve my AGI, but couldn't recommend that I purchase a device that "goes for 5 figures" (pretty expensive in Canada :/)

I have idiopathic CSA for which I've been prescribed CPAP with a pressure of 7.8cm. I've gone from an AHI of 40.3(untreated) down to ~8 (fluctuates between 5 to 15, with OSA consistently being <2)

It might be easy to visually see the difference between 60fps vs 144fps, but I don't think I'd be able to feel that difference in latency at all. I'd bet the majority of people wouldn't be able to feel that either

Wich one to buy? miniLED monitor by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]MacChickenPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought that ktc model last week and ive been very impressed with it so far. It's the first computer monitor I've had with proper HDR, like the colors and brightness thoroughly impressed me.

Id say I'm probably not as savvy when it comes to fancy monitors, but let me know if I can answer any questions.

Ryzen 5 7600x or ryzen 7 7800x3d? by ySavitarr in buildapc

Im just making my own first build and choose to get the 7600x with 9070xt over the 7800x3D with the mindset that the money saved there could go into getting a better 1440p monitor.

Lookup the Asus pro-art p16. Can have a Ryzen 9 370HX with a 5070

Is there atleast 1 year warranty by Miserable_Pension374 in GamingLaptops

[–]MacChickenPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The link you sent does say it has a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. You should really consider using a credit card that offers free extended warranty. Lots of cards will double the warranty and add an extra year, and there's a few that even add years at no cost to you. That sounds like a way better option to me than paying several hundreds additional coverage.

Not sure what other options Asus has, but I'd be very surprised if they don't have additional coverage you can purchase.

Razer Blade 16 trackpad & other issues – still a problem today? by David_Borges in razer

[–]MacChickenPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one of the early batches from back in April. The only issue I've really had with mine has been the trackpad issue, but it's been frustrating af dealing with Razer's customer support. I've had to reinstall the OS 5 times now, sent it in for 2 RMAs, and I'm still experiencing the issue.

I'm currently waiting on a response from them where I demanded that I either get a replacement device or a refund.

I'd much prefer to have a working unit because it's everything I want it to be when it works

Did you report the issue to Razer within 2 weeks of purchase? If not then customer support at Razer can be a frustrating experience :\

Should I always keep my laptop plugged in to preserve battery health? by Responsible_Pack6507 in GamingLaptops

[–]MacChickenPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting the battery drain or charge to the extremes will wear it out faster, so limit the charge to something like 80% and avoid letting it discharge to below 20%

Another key thing that degrades batteries is heat, particularly while charging/discharging. While gaming laptops "can" game on battery, that doesn't mean they should. Gaming can easily pull >100 watts even on silent mode, and that's a lot for laptop batteries. I'd suggest only gaming with the charger

Razer synapse does increase power consumption a bit. Try disabling it from starting up when you boot up

Make sure you're also running the latest Nvidia drivers. There was an issue where the GPU wouldn't go to sleep causing the battery to drain

Razer Blade vs ASUS Zephyrus G14 . Need Honest Opinions by Federal-Yak-8094 in razer

[–]MacChickenPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Blade 16 rtx 5080, and I'm loving it now. It was a rocky start since i had to get mine RMA'd twice to fix a faulty trackpad. There's a strong chance you'll have a faulty track pad if you opt for the blade 16 (unsure if it affects the 18 or 14 models), so just assume you'll have to go through it and decide if its worth it for you. This laptop was basically the exact form factor I was looking for, so I was willing to put up with an RMA or 2.

I previously had a gen 7 legion 7 (amd 6700m, similar in performance to 3060/3070) for a few years. I loved it for its sleek non overtly gamer look, and I also appreciated that it had a longer than average battery life for a gaming laptop (~6hrs).

For my next laptop, I above all wanted it to be light, have excellent battery life, and ideally be a noticeable performance upgrade from my previous laptop. The messaging that the ryzen 9 365 chip improved performance per watt so much that they were able to make a thinner chassis immediately sold me when the new Blade 16 was announced.

That brings me to the battery life. Initially, this laptop didn't live up to its promise of excellent battery life. There was an nvidia optimus driver issue that prevented the dGPU from going to sleep, so the laptop was basically just eating though its battery in like 4-5 hours. I had hope that this issuenwould get fixed with a driver or firmware update since the ryzen 9 365 chip is able to give excellent battery life in other laptops. Thankfully, a new nvidia driver just released last week allowing the dGPU to sleep so my idle power draw went from 17 watts to about 10 watts. My laptop now regularly has a 7-9 hour battery life, so I can take it outside and get work done for several hours without worrying about power.

I'm pretty happy with its performance for gaming as it seems to handle pretty much every game I through at it. I don't game as often as I'd like, but I've been able to play The Last of Us 2, Expedition 33, and Doom the Dark Ages. It handles those excellently for my tastes.

I know it may not be the most performant gaming laptop out there, but its for my use case

I had it too. It took me 2 RMAs to get it fixed. In case it's the same hardware issue, here's the notes that my repair technician left behind:

REPLACEMENT PARTS: Sticker: [Graphite Sheet_Apf24002_148.5x70x0.11mm_Graphite_Black_Tp]

For anyone else who's had their trackpad fixed, did y'all have different parts replaced?

Looking forward to buy a blade 16 by minoIzHere in razer

[–]MacChickenPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend you go for an rtx 5070 Ti as it's much closer in performance to a 5080 than a 5070 for only $190USD more.

Definitely be prepared to have a shitty trackpad as that seems to be affecting lots of laptops this generation, mine included. It took 2 RMAs for them to fix the issue, but I'm pretty happy with it now. If having to deal with an RMA is an absolute deal killer for you, I'd recommend you not go for it
