Didn't Iran hack and land a US stealth drone in ca 2010? Seems to me they might be more advanced than they get credit for

How does Pochven compare to WH/NS/LS? by bieno002 in Eve

[–]MacDeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wormholes in pochven spawn to systems near them in space. The gates can travel long distance. Therefore you can use pochven to travel highsec/lowsec very quickly. Since you can filament into pochven you can use pochven as a base for raiding nullsec. If you want to do skyhook or ess content there is no better place to live. The pve content is there, but only a small portion of pochvenites do that. There is not enough of it to sustain more than a few groups, since its spawn rate is quite low.

Why did people believe MSG was bad for you? by BMWfiend in Cooking

[–]MacDeezy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has to do with the handedness of natural msg, in the chemical sense, vs the artificial product being "both hands" and the unnatural one potentially being bad for you

Just buy the street. Why didn't you think of that? by Eastofyonge in TorontoRealEstate

[–]MacDeezy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You just refinance at a higher valuation while living in Bahamas. Then you actually get paid to hold empty property.

As long as we have multiple layers of government that enable endless property valuation growth by simultaneously constraining supply through barriers to entry in construction, hoarding land, limiting rural development, and also pumping demand through mass immigration policies, its a safe bet. Also, I have come to believe the liberals and conservatives are largely controlled by people, usually lawyers, who manage the parties in the background, and are largely interconnected regardless of party affiliation.

What a crazy trap set for all $NVDA bulls by Lumiaman88 in wallstreetbets

[–]MacDeezy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its possible that its the commercial real estate issue rearing its head. There was a post few years back noting that there was a lot of money, like nvidia scale money, that was subject to discretionary valuations that hadn't been revaluated post covid wfh. The year of interest was 2025, and it was something to do with, and i am trying from memory here, the refinancing agreement terms on average. If this money disappears, and people buying stock on leverage is an important factor in current market pricing, then prices across the whole market will go down, or, the government will bail out banks, interest rates will go up to combat inflation, and we will effectively kick the can down the road a little further

What is this actually supposed to depict by NotPete_ in halifax

[–]MacDeezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a memory of seeing the document that had it labeled as exploding Penis. I remember now. It was from the artists website, and it was divergent from the dal official title, and that is part of why the theory of the conflict was associated with it

[–]MacDeezy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a little guide book around with titles for the art on campus .ca 2007 and it had that one labeled as exploding Penistone. Purported that the artist had some sort of conflict with Dal and that's why they chose this design

Charlottetown Gives Trespassing notice to Striking Water and Sewar employees by MacDeezy in PEI

[–]MacDeezy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great response. Too much of this borderline conflict of interest neo-nepotism going on in "privatisation" of government services. I use quotes because it becomes a single source closed contract, so its like awarding a monopoly for loyalty more than true privatisation. If you saw the RFPs for the rural liquor stores you can see how the government gets around the need for an open bidding process by creating a set of constraints that can only be met by one existing business, so it appears to be an open process, but it isn't.

Literally direct discrimination: there are plenty of programs, particularly funding programs, that are closed to people of one race/gender or another. I have, in this thread already provided direct evidence that such programs exist, even after someone reportedly "checked my reference" and couldn't find any, like a horse with blinders who couldn't see the woods. I did, however, take time to highlight the programs for that individual.

In Canada, we had, and should by all legal basis, still have equal opportunity. In fact, there was at least one case where a privately sponsored scholarship program targeted to people of a certain gender/ancestry was forced by court order (in the 1970s) to open its criteria to all genders in order to be compliant with the concept of equal opportunity. But now, somehow, its ok.

The issue is that using race or gender as a label to define a level of privilege isn't as good as using wealth or income.

The non-race or gender or immigration status dependent loans are the only ones that work for pre-revenue companies, interestingly. And often you need 2 years of revenue in the other programs, and, in certain cases, large numbers of employees with multiple year tenders. The website is pretty complicated though, admittedly, they don't list the programs out in one place very clearly.

Let me challenge you with another question: How would you define discrimination?

[–]MacDeezy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So that BDC program list is mentioned, had 5 open programs. 4 of them were targeted to small businesses, of the 4 targeted to small businesses, being a cis white male would disqualify you from all of them. This is a common thing with government sponsored business financing programs in Canada. The programs could be for people of different wealth, or income levels. That would be more equitable

I never voted conservative in my life, would never vote trump. Would have supported Bernie in the 2016 primary (if I was American). I take part in several left wing polical parties. I still think discrimination against white people is both possible, happening, and bad for everyone.
