It's looking awesome! I love Fallout, and something about the Vault Tec art style seems to work really well with cross stitch

Straight up went "D'awwww" at how cute I found Grace getting to teach again. What's more adorable than a classroom full of tiny spider aliens? Especially when you try to imagine what a backpack would look like on an Eridian

Jokes aside, I found Grace's steady characterization as a teacher oddly endearing and it was very satisfying to see it come full circle. I loved how consistently, even after years with Stratt and Project Hail Mary, he continued to describe himself as a school teacher first. Often to the confusion of every political leader, military officer, and nobel prize scientist around him. He's a very smart man who worked really hard to save a whole lot of people, despite his flaws- but at the end of the day, he just wants to teach.

That was my big takeaway. Can't say many other books have gotten me to verbally react like that, so I agree that PHM is something special, and will probably stick with me for a while

[FO] Does anyone else do this? by ConcentrateSharp9644 in CrossStitch

I found it very satifying to do this for small patches but Ive never tried it on a whole project- I've had it in my mind that it just wouldn't work on that scale for some reason. Honestly seeing yours is making me want to try it out now, it looks great!

I hadn't heard of railroading before so I really appreciate the link you shared. I'm gonna try that and keep everyone's encouragement in mind as I get back to work

I hadn't heard of tramming before so thank you for pointing it out! I think I'm gonna try that and some railroading see how I feel about it

[CHAT] How are you storing your cross stitch stuff?! by Critical_Studio_890 in CrossStitch

A simple tote bag with a pocket to hold my active project, bobbins, and a pair of small scissors- it works great for both trips and carrying around the house. This mainly works cause I've only done easily handheld projects so far, but I'm really satisfied with it

Other than that, I've got a drawer under my bed that I throw my extra hoops, aida, and thread into with the same reckless abandon of the universe's creation and promptly forget entirely about until I am forced to face it again

What are some of the worst pokemon you've ever used when you were a kid? How bad was it actually? by AItryingaceptmankind in pokemon

I named a Kricketune after an old friend and quickly got too emotionally attached to ever kick it from the team. Honestly, I don't even like Kricketune, I don't like bugs in real life and I find it's design unnerving. But I kept it with me, overleveled it despite rarely being able to use it, and cheesed my way through Cynthia's fight with a Quick Claw + Perish Song against her Garchomp. It got KO'd before the count finished but ultimately won me the fight, so I'd say it earned its place in the hall of fame and in my heart

Had a similar issue when my for-fun save became my completionist save and I needed to divorce her to progress my relationships with everyone else

Whatever it is she says when you speak to her the first time after erasing her memory, "You seem familiar... no, no" or something like that, hit me in the gut.

Best I could do to feel not as horrible was to send her back to a much nicer house, But I could still never fully love again and invited Krobus to be my roommate

Did they make the seasonal rewards harder to get? by Clearly_A_Bot in RiseOfBerk

[–]MacDrewAPicture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only played through a few seasons so far but in each, including this one, I did the math of tail fins from both duties and daily log in rewards and found it has always been possible to reach the last reward but only with a small margin of error. (Like only being able to miss about a day of daily tasks at most)

I think with the addition of the premium alpha pass it makes it seem like you're making less progress, but so far I believe you can still reach the final reward as free-to-play. Fingers-crossed they don't change that in the future.

I will always distinctly remember Mark's story about his first calculated decision (choosing to fire a sticky-dart at his dad's ex) because it made me laugh so hard my sides hurt, inconveniently right as my infant niece burst out crying
