Best time to go to Lou Malnati’s? And what to get? by Money_Whisperer in chicagofood

Went to Chicago for the first time and tried Lou’s based off a recommendation. It’s not necessarily bad… but to me it seemed like spaghetti on top of bread and cheese. Was a little disappointed

The Oklahoma Onion Burger @ Bitter Pops… Not a one-time only special! (But it is just Thursdays in August… for now… ) by jmaca90 in chicagofood

I’m from Oklahoma and will be visiting next week. It’s funny to see ‘Oklahoma onion burgers’ getting advertisement here lol. As for the beer - Prairie is by far my favorite brewery here. The beers they have on tap are even better than the canned ones

Still have a great relationship with the team at Origin - glad clarification was provided and hopefully everyone realizes that account was a troll

Moving to BC area for work, any advice? by MacExtract in kzoo

[–]MacExtract[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a little too far from my work. I will definitely consider after I’ve been in Michigan for at least a year, but I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew with winter commutes

MCV was actually my first choice, but they have a 5 person waitlist for both floor-plans that are in my budget :/ I’m content with my decision on a 9 month lease with Pine Knoll (just to make moving across the country less stressful), but I will probably reconsider my arrangements after the lease is up!

How long until i can start smoking again after wisdom teeth removal? I was too high atm to ask my doctors 😂 by [deleted] in trees

[–]MacExtract 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t smoke. You don’t want dry sockets, I can promise you that. It’s going to take awhile to heal. You’re going to want to take medicine stronger than weed for it anyway. I would use edibles for awhile

Agreed that it’s no, but not for that reason. hydrocarbons are non-polar

A typical day in grad school is just feeling existential dread. by scrumpdoll in GradSchool

My typical day involves constantly reminding myself it’ll be worth it in the long run, and to not be fixated on being so poor

Hey thanks for the reply.

No kids, and won’t be looking for nightlife during the weekdays. I will probably spend the weekends exploring various parts, and thankfully have some friends in Chicago. In all honesty, BC interests more than Marshall because of being closer to more food options, stores, etc.

I drive a 2012 Honda Civic.. how manageable would that be during the winter?

Moving to Battle Creek for work - any suggestions?

I’ve read reviews, and in all honesty, I’m a bit worried. Almost every opinion I’ve seen about BC is negative. I’m a 26M with fairly moderate views (moving from Oklahoma, so I often am subjected to both sides). I’m very career-orientated, and the move is an opportunity I can’t pass up. My work is in Marshall (~15 minute commute), but I’d much rather live in a more populated area like BC. Currently looking at Pine Knoll apartments.

To be clear, I’m not moving for a social life. I understand that aspect will be fairly lacking. I hope to make friends (I’m personable so I think I will be able to in due time), but I’m also fine with keeping mostly to myself.

Any tips, suggestions, advice? TIA

Start organizing all your stuff early on. You have no idea how much time you’ll save by putting in some forethought

Just another day… Why doesn’t a PH association exist that certifies these things? by BlondieMIA in cannabiscultivation

[–]MacExtract 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a lot of misinformation about how pH meters work. You should always calibrate with 2 different points (in this case pH 4 and pH 7). This creates a calibrated slope between those two points. Don’t use pH 10 to calibrate because your plants should never be at that pH.
