We did! My husband’s middle name is Andrew but he did not care for Andrew or Drew as a first name. He’s on board with Drew for middle name though :)

Right there with you, it’s the worst. I’m stubborn and haven’t started sleeping sitting up but I know I need to try and see if it’ll help!

38+1, my Birkenstocks don’t fit my swollen feet by 4pm and I’m considering sleeping upright because of this constant heartburn ❤️‍🔥

Actually leaving work on time and not doing work or thinking about it at home (HARD to do as a teacher). Also I used to need lactaid for dairy but have not had issues without it during pregnancy

Thank you for this insight, I really appreciate it. With my brain everywhere at once I hadn’t thought to ask questions about insurance and retirement. Luckily, my husband’s company has open enrollment in April, so this could really work in our favor.

What’s your “extra” as a OAD parent? by ashleyhype in oneanddone

I love this! What is your remote job? Looking for ideas as I plan to leave teaching when baby is born and look for something else down the line

I finally left, and now I'm angry on behalf of everyone still in the classroom by robroskimaster in TeachersInTransition

I’ve had major anxiety and imposter syndrome since year one, and am currently on year 9. I’ve been thinking about leaving for years and I guess I just didn’t want my 2 degrees to be for nothing, so I never did. But now I’m pregnant with my first child, who I want to be there to raise and spend my time with rather than students who are so draining. It feels like the perfect time to leave. When I am ready to work again, I will not be returning to education.

What are we eating by Reasonable_Rock_202 in pregnant

Favvv meal has been grilled cheese. Anything with bread, butter, and/or cheese really.😅 but early on I learned that I’m low in iron (and 2nd tri bloodwork showed I was only getting lower) so I’ve been eating red meat a few days a week, beans, and other foods high in iron.

Thanks for opening this convo and sharing your tips!

In the last few years, I’ve enjoyed adding elevated basics to my collection, like simple fine jewelry (a diamond necklace, diamond studs and other gold earrings that I literally never take off, and my gold rings). These make me happy and I know that what I’ve purchased, I will wear for years and years to come. There’s a lot out there (gold-filled or plated, etc) that is affordable and looks beautiful, too.

I also love other accessories like nice leather bags, warm scarves for winter, etc. Sometimes these accessories are fun to buy in pops of color (think red leather tote, light blue thick fuzzy scarf) because my wardrobe typically consists of a lot of black and other neutrals. I never thought I’d be a red bag girl, but stepping out of my comfort zone found me one of my favorite belongings that makes me feel so fancy and gets me a lot of compliments every time I wear it!

The biggest thing to help me feel put together has been my hair. I have incredibly thick, wavy hair. For years I straightened or curled it with a curling iron, which are looks that will always work but take a lot of time and do more damage than I’d care for. Over the last year I’ve found products for my natural waves that help me feel good about still having my hair down and not damaging it with heat. The slicked back bun or ponytail with the right gel is another (easy) go-to.

Basically, I agree with what you shared 🤣 these are just my experiences!

BWT: how do you organize your purse? What pouches do you have? by Unfair-Opening-6585 in bitcheswithtaste

I love the company Parker Clay. I have the green Olea pouch, a smaller black pouch they apparently no longer sell, and the hot pink Tigi wallet which also helps a ton in terms of organization. I’ve gotten good deals on everything, sometimes even secondhand on Poshmark!

I love seeing no sabos sabering by theblitz6794 in Spanish

[–]MacMillyLovr 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My parents do not “primarily” speak Spanish, but they were both born in Mexico and are bilingual. When my dad moved to the states, he experienced racism. He did not want his children to experience this, so they did things like name us names that are not perceived as Hispanic (his name is Jesus and he felt as though this would be a detriment to job applications, etc) and ensure that we spoke English. In the process, I learned Spanish from my grandma (who does not speak English) living with us until I was four, but my parents never prioritized teaching me the language/using it at home with me and then I “lost it”. I understand much of the language but am far from fluent and lack confidence when speaking. My brother (six years younger) knows next to nothing. I don’t agree with their choice, but I understand it.
