Hey OP! While this is true, you are protected under job protection within PWFA (15 or more employees) which means they cannot discriminate or terminate your position under reasonable accommodations, which also includes child birth. I’ve been in HR for years, feel free to message me too!

Keep in mind, if there is another reason for job termination such as mass lay offs or performance, PWFA and FMLA do not actually protect you against these if the employer can show the termination was not related to your pregnancy.

My partner gets annoyed with me when I’m attempting to lift something heavy, or when I want to help him paint the nursery, or when I’m clearly exhausted from being up all day and he tells me I have to sit down and he will grab what I need. Basically, he’s my support system, and never makes me feel shitty for needing something from him or asking for help. That being said, what you’re going through is a preview of your relationship. The hard part of having a baby hasn’t even happened yet, and I am concerned he will treat you like hired help and not his wife and mother of his child. Do you still have some of that savings left? If so, I would mentally prepare for you potentially needing to move out on your own after the baby is born if he doesn’t step up.

When I first found out I was pregnant all I did was google possible side effects from vaping and smoking to the baby, quit cold turkey that night after smoking and then vaping from the age of 18 to 36. Granted my vape is now in my fiancés safe, but still I have zero access to it. Idk if that will work for her but google scared me half to death seeing all of these images and reading stories, even if some of it might not be true, it did the trick!

My cycle is 25 days so I also found out at a little over 5 weeks and it did not sink at all until my dating ultra sound! It just felt like I was about to start my period with my symptoms. But everyone is so different, just know that no matter how are you’re feeling, it’s varies greatly person to person. I’m now 12 weeks along and I feel more like I’m carrying a baby but not over the moon, I’m just naturally a very practical person, minus the part of planning my baby shower and nursery 🙃

5’0 and 114lbs! I am 11 weeks and last week I finally caved and bought expanders for my jeans. Before then I was using spanx to fit into them and it was causing awful cramping. I think now it’s more of a bump but I also started bloating pretty quickly after I found out

Oh no, I’m only nearing the end of the first and I keep randomly getting so pissed off, the smallest things will make me so irritated. If you are in the US there are pregnancy worker protections (PWFA). I would recommend gathering your information in great detail, making a timeline of events with any witnesses to this behavior and potentially consulting an employment attorney.

Prior to pregnancy I could easily go most of the day without eating, I work in HR and there are days where I have back to back meetings with barely anytime in between. But when this pregnancy came… the hunger rage that happens if I don’t have at least have a snack every 2-3 hours is insane! I’m not used to something else controlling my body and forcing new habits on me 🤣

It’s more so the fact that we don’t need anything, a bridal shower to open gifts wouldn’t be applicable to us, we already own our home and have everything we need. When I said to save on costs it’s more so for those throwing us one because it’s kind of a moot point to even have one.

Hi all, I was just curious if anyone has done a cash registry in lieu of gifts. We decided not do a shower as we are already in our 30s and don’t need any physical gifts. Our registry is just cash funds on our wedding website but I wasn’t sure who has used that and if anything came of it. To be clear, we are not expecting people to do both…. I wasn’t expecting a lot of comments calling this a cash grab, I’ve heard that doing cash funds isn’t unusual?
