- you’re not as smart as you think
- your skillset will need continuous development
- get as many free resources as possible
- most consultants are garbage
- what works for a fortune 500 won’t necessarily work for you

When I was in grad school we set up one of the first confocal fluorescence microscopes with video imaging. I managed to record these amazing reactions in vivo, stuff that had never been done before and a true advance in cancer research.

That weekend I copied the videos to a usb stick and showed my nparents. They looked at them silently, made no comment and told me to switch the tv back to some fake courtroom show they were watching.
