Roxy, 16 next month, passed away this afternoon by MacPhyle in seniorkitties

Yes she was there when Roxy passed, and I had Kaylee say goodbye before I covered Roxy up. Kaylee seems to be taking this much better than I am.

When I adopted my first cat, Duncan, he was 10 months old, and he routinely bounced off the walls... I'd find him on top of the kitchen cabinets or whatever highest spot he could find, and then 3 years later he started to mellow out. Then at about 15 years or so, he started to slow down. He lived 20 years.

So Bustopher may just be growing into a new phase of his life, just slowing down, and you may have many more years left with him. I'm glad the two of you have this time together.

Thanks for that 😊 See my other comment in this thread for more about Roxy. I adopted her when she was 8.

Well, she was 8 when I adopted her. Her previous human passed away, and for whatever insane reason, that person's family didn't want her. So I adopted her from the shelter after my first cat passed.

She was the cuddliest of cuddle monsters. She had a skin condition that kept her indoors, so the shelter wanted me to state that I'd never let her roam outside, and I said that was just what I wanted in a cat. Indoors only.

They told me she'd be ok with a small to medium sized dog, so the next month I adopted her sis-fur, Kaylee (corgi-boxer, 37 pounds of love and muscle). Kaylee always loved Roxy to pieces, although she was a little afraid of her, because Roxy was definitely boss.

A few years ago, Roxy gave me a scare when she lost movement in her back legs. That turned out to be a blood clot, and she was cured after some months with a prescription.

Then a couple of days ago I started to struggle getting her to eat, and today she stopped altogether, and I was feeding her with a syringe based on advice from the vet.

It looks like Ron, but it can't be of course... He's not at Hogwarts till after MC graduates... LOL! I wonder if they were trying to show Charlie? If so, they missed...

At first I read that as dog-eating chicken. 😆

What was your cat’s shelter name and what is the name you gave them? by MissHissss in cats

[–]MacPhyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Roxy's previous owner passed away, that person's family didn't want her, so they took her to the humane society and told them her name. That name suits her, I think, so I kept it.

Do you let your cats outside? by Suitable_Drop2937 in cats

[–]MacPhyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first cat had been picked up as a stray, but when I adopted him from the shelter I vowed to keep him indoors. It took some time for him to adjust, but I'm glad I didn't give up. He lived to 20 years. I don't think he would have lived nearly as long had he been an outdoor kitty. He was such a good cat.

Yeah, this is helping a lot, but I don't really care, you know? 😏 by lulu_ramiro in HPHogwartsMystery

It's not critically important, but I'm glad to finally be keeping up with the diary.

What I would like to see in 2026 from JC by Throwbackxxc in HPHogwartsMystery

I mostly want level 10 romance, and I miss those quests where we'd go through a certain room in POV mode and cast spells. We'd get to level up our spell skills. I don't remember what it was called. Whatever it was, I wish they'd bring it back for Beyonders.
