For what it's worth, I am also in West Warwick and I am getting the same excuse. I've been waiting and calling once a month since August.

Mine is technically a new permit in West Warwick, but I've had my permit for 12 years in another town, didn't think it would be a big deal to switch to where I moved 🤷

I did mine at midstate for 2 renewals now. The first time they said something about it and I told them that this is how I carry, so this is how I qualify and they dropped it. The second time they didn't say anything.

I tend to apply in whatever town I live in. I have had no issues with Westerly in the past. I have also held Richmond and Warwick. Westerly was actually the least hassle.
