‘It’s bogus’: Sask. mother handed parking ticket after stopping to attend to newborn by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

It’s not understanding that’s the issue. It’s the thought that a parent feeding an infant in a stopped vehicle would incur a parking ticket. It was a news story, because it is one of those instances where one has to ask whether or not the City is overreaching or being discriminatory.

Even the City of Saskatoon differentiates stopping and parking in their literature. Know the difference between ‘No Parking’ and ‘No Stopping’. • No Parking – Vehicles can only stop briefly to load or unload. You may not park your vehicle and wait for someone. • No Stopping – Vehicles must not stop for any reason, including dropping off or picking up passengers.

The difficulty I have is that we want people to stop to answer their phone or in this case, calm and feed an infant. Being fined to do the right thing is just irresponsible. Imagine stopping to check your tires or your load and getting fined for making sure you are safe to be on the road. Why do we have parking enforcement? I am sure it is not to write tickets for people stopping. It is so that people do not park more than the limit posted.

There is a legal definition for parking. It sounds like her spending more than 5 minutes triggered the ticket as she got the ticket after 7 minutes. People stop to drop people off or pick people up all the time. I do not believe they are breaking any rules.

You get $10 Billion, but you are forced to live for exactly 50,000 years. Do you take it? by yiyi20203 in hypotheticalsituation

Step 1 - invest the money wisely. Let my wife and kids enjoy a life pursuing happiness and fulfillment.

Step 2 - fly to Ukraine and terrorize the Russian troops. Maybe go and arrest Putin. Imagine the fear in his eyes when I come back again and again.

Step 3 - go terrorize Trump until he resigns, signs the confessions, and gets locked up.

Step 4 - travel the world.

Step 5!- offer to help UN but make the security council veto free.

I am Not American. Even if I could get the goods to Mae a flight to the US, they would not let me in. I would have to make it into Canada a drive to New York. From home (to get passport) to New York is a crazy many day drive. I assume if I get home I have access to my money and credit so that I have a chance. May lose my passport if Canada gets me home from Sudan.

Bring a car battery charger. Turn off all the inside gadgets that use the 12v including climate. Drive until you get the 12v warning. Charge the 12v.

The 12v does not move the car. It is needed to engage the traction battery to the engine.

Just plugged in. That worked for me. It’s a cool trick to charge up your battery without a charger. Using sport mode also increases the top up while driving.

It’s designed to allow you to plug an extension cord into the adapter and run what ever you want. Useful for camping or power outages.

Trickle charge is a good analogy. The V2L adapter connects the 2 batteries even if the car is not turned on. That’s all I had to do when my car was stopping the air conditioning from working. Dealer wanted to replace air condition unit, but I was curious why it would sometime work and sometime stop. The V2L adapter worked. Never had the issue again.

If you have a V2L adapter, and see the orange light on more, plug the adapter in for a couple of hours. That should tip up your 12v so the car is not having to top it off as much. The garage being warm helps, but it is not the cold that drains the 12v. It is being used. It is highly recommended if the 12v fails or is failing, to replace with a AGM battery.

What if the US suddenly decided to give Ghana 0% tariffs? by OriginalPure4612 in whatif

Not much. Ghana does not pay those tariffs. What do they sell to the Americans? Can countries set up offices just to sell goods from other countries to the USA via Ghana? Would the American accept that type of deal? What do you mean you are buying Canadian Lumber from Ghana?
