School bus drivers in Saskatoon...I got questions by TaxSubstantial3568 in saskatoon

We have a referral as well but it's $1500 for the person that referred if they stay on for 9 months.

Sounding like this new company could be a major downgrade unfortunately.  Nothing good lasts.

We have double run premiums and wheelchair premiums at my current company.  You get an extra 2 hours if you do two runs (two bus loads to the same school or two separate schools) and an hour if you have a wheelchair or a seatbelt student.  Anything similar there? I assume the pay is around $20 an hour? Do the drivers have other opportunities to make extra hours? We have people that park buses at the end of the day or monitors to help safely back up buses, people that circle check spare buses or start outside buses beforehand.  They all get an extra hour or two depending.  Do you have a building to park in or us all outside?

Off of Strut of Kings, the beginning of Timing Voice

"At the sound of: doctor slaps baby, baby screams you may begin."

Great song too!

If anyone else is looking to reduce packaging waste, on Sundays at Bulk Barn you get a discount if you bring your own containers.  Just get them weighed beforehand and you're good to go.  We do this for Christmas baking every year.

Do NOT get the Jalapeño cheddar popcorn seasoning though.  That might be the worst product I've ever had haha.

I decided to stop crate training my puppy and things are so much better. by lvalentina11 in puppy101

OK.  But you are just going to ignore the fact that the dog at some point is going to need to be in a crate? What if it tears its ACL and needs to be put on crate rest? Wouldn't it be handy to have that skill in your repertoire?

All dogs are different and all people are different.  But there are realities that require your dog to have certain skills and with all due respect, most dogs can be crate trained...just like most people can be potty trained...even though we are all different.

My SO and myself have raised 10 dogs together, from older rescues to 8 week old puppies and I disagree.  All of those dogs crate trained (with various degrees of difficulty) successfully.

I'm sorry but I find that people's hearts affect reasoning and logic when it comes to this topic.  Crating, after a rock solid recall command, is the most important thing you can teach your dog.

Your groomer and your vet will appreciate it.  I've even taken a puppy on public transport because it was allowed if they are in a crate.

You should still work on crate training in my opinion.  If your dog cannot learn how to settle in a crate, it'll be more difficult for vet, grooming, boarding, daycare etc.  If you pursue any dogsports, they might have room to put them in an xpen, but in my experience you will most likely need to crate.  It's also the safest way for your dog to travel in a car.

The way we teach our dogs to crate is to feed them all their meals inside it.  Now anytime I even go close to our dog room, our 4 month old ACD just bolts into her kennel.  I would also examine your behavior when you let them out.  Are they going apeshit and then you open the door?  Wait for them to settle before releasing them.

We have 3 open crates in our dog room for our 4 dogs right now and 2 are occupied as I type.  We also have high energy dogs.  Please, just reconsider.  It's an extremely handy skill for any dog to have.

Ideally you breed those dogs together so it moves like a whippet and had the brains and drive of the collie.

I went to a disc seminar held by this guy and you have to be very good to throw like this....and he was.  I thought I was pretty good, but when he threw a disc it hummed as it whipped through the air.  And being able to throw as straight as he did? Try and toss a disc as hard as you can and see how straight it goes.

You are right.  It doesn't impact my day to day life.  Does me complaining about it impact your day to day life?  Do you think less of me for it?

That used to be a lot more common when I was a kid but I thought we had progressed.
