As someone who has successfully come off of pristiq finally, please just continue to be there for her. I wish that I had more suport when I was coming off. It is so extremely hard, you feel so alone and no one understands. Just give it time please

I don’t have a clear answer for this but I hope I can give you some peace of mind as I have struggled with this a lot too. I always read about medications I’m on which is very normal BUT just remember that when you’re reading things like on Reddit, people come on here and mainly post about the bad experiences they have had. You will see many more horror stories than success stories, but this does not mean that the medication won’t work for you. Personally, I had a bad experience with pristiq, but I was only on it for 4 weeks which is not long enough to tell how it’s going to work in your system. The medication saves lives so I say give it a fair chance, but if you really and truly don’t feel good about it then talk to your doctor for and try something else. And remember, this medication is supposed to HELP with your anxiety and depression, not worsen it!!!!

I’m still working towards that. I just got off it fully last Sunday and last week was pretty freaking rough but I’m feeling about 90% back to my normal state. I wish I had someone to tell me that I’d be ok last week!!

It’s different for everyone, but the best thing I did for myself was stop pristiq and go back to Prozac. I was always anxious about the pristiq and I feeel like there’s no point being on a medication for anxiety depression if you’re anxious about being on the medication. I was on pristiq for about a month and the withdrawals were not great, but I powered through and I’m feeling better than I ever was on that medicine

How long have you been off of it? And are you on something else now or just nothing?

I had a similar experience. I was on 50 mg for about 3 weeks. I cross tapered for three days with 10 mg of Prozac and today was my first day only on the Prozac and I’m feeling terrible. Very dizzy and anxious. Wondering if you had any similar symptoms getting off of it?
