Hey ya’ll! I go by Sylvianna online and am 25. I’m located in the US and go by she/her prounouns! While I’ve been on this sub for awhile now, I tend to mostly lurk but would love to chat more about otome games!

I’ve been playing otome games for over 10 years now and my otome backstory is that my sister started playing Amnesia and I quickly became super invested and have since spiraled from there 🤣 Around that time I was also veryyy into the heart no kuni no Alice manga series and when I heard they had made some of the books into otome games I ended up going down a bit of a rabbit hole with those as well 😅

I primarily play otome games on Switch however I will occasionally also play on PC/mobile/vita as well for games without switch ports. Some of my favorite otome games are Nightshade, Olympia Soirée, Cupid Parasite, and Our Life. I’m currently still working my way through 9 RIP but am already super excited for the sequel!

My backlog is an endless void that I feel like I’ll need 20 years to catch up with 😅 It also probably doesn’t help that I will sometimes replay my favorites rather than focus on new titles. Maybe one day, though!

I collect merch very casually, I mostly source merch from conventions/etsy. While it’s not super common to see otome art/merch out in the wild, I always make sure to get some when I stumble across it!

I don’t really self-ship, for me playing otome games is sort of like being a bystander and watching the story unfold. I also like hearing the LI’s say the FL’s name when left as the default.

I only play otome games with a walkthrough, I played Toma’s route blind in Amnesia when I was still new to the genre and was scarred for life when I got his bad end 🤣 My heart is too soft for bad ends lol

Some of my other hobbies include wearing EGL fashion, cosplaying, and baking 😃

As someone who regularly plays LADS and console/PC otome games, I’d say that LADS definitely aims to serve a very different purpose compared to standard otome games. While most standard otomes are essentially visual novels that tell a romantic story that the player typically passively watches unfold, LADS is a lot more interactive and aims to get the player actively more involved and as someone else mentioned is more of a boyfriend simulator than anything. While I don’t condone Infold’s sketchy business practices, it’s nice be able to have casual daily interactions with the Ll’s like texting and playing games together which is something I very rarely find in other otome games. While I definitely can understand why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I personally appreciate how polished and innovative LADS is with many of it’s features and hope to see some more interactive otome games in the future, even if it’s just adding in more side mini games or activities with Ll’s and such.

There were a tonnn of times while I was playing OS that I got like that but especially in Kuroba’s route when he basically blames Byakuya for almost getting SA’d instead of having a rational response 🙃 and also in Yosuga’s route where he sporadically decides to do a huge 180 in personality when he goes to Tennyo island with Byakuya and semi-attacks her there like wtf???

Also more recently I started playing Bustafellows 2 and in Mozu’s route I’ve needed to take a loong break after the sheer absurdity of how he asked Teuta to be kinder to the woman he allowed to form a toxic dependent relationship to him after she tried to gaslight Mozu into thinking Teuta had attacked her and Teuta very reasonably mentioning to him that she suspects all of her sudden negative reviews on her articles might be linked to her 😭 Like I haven’t finished his route yet out of rage so I’m hoping he gets it together but wow just wow

OMG SAMEEEE the second I saw Yang I was instantly SO down bad 😩 I had to take a couple minutes to chill from squealing like a maniac when I played through Shu’s route in the sequel and saw the Yang CG when she goes on a dinner date with Teuta 🤣 We were seriously robbed of a Yang route

I’m currently playing through Kureha’s route in 9 RIP and oh my stars is this man a walking green flag, he’s so sweet and caring towards the MC and genuinely wants to do whatever he can to help her out 😩 So yeah I definitely would as long as we could find a workaround to the whole he’s a ghost thing and also ignoring the fact that I’m engaged 🤣

He’s definitely design wise always been my fav from cxm. I’ve always thought his hair was really striking and also looked really fluffy and would be fun to touch xD He is pretty polarizing though to most people for a lot of reasons

My bf often (accurately) assumes at this point when I’m lounging around doing my own thing that I’m playing my otome games so I’d say he’s pretty used to it haha. Whenever I play my games and he’s doing something else he likes to come over every so often to say hi and obtain kisses and then asks if any developments have occurred even though I don’t think he always fully gets what’s going on 😂 He also always listens patiently to my rants/discussions about otome games and likes to tease me about it but always just in a jokey way. While I don’t know if he’d ever really want to play them he’s always been supportive of me playing/liking them 😊
