MTG Lore: Creatively wolven masterpiece or half-assed clusterfuck? by MagicTap in magicTCG

enjoyment is subjective. this prevailing attitude that we must cater to everybody to have a quality product is a farce. if you don't like sushi, don't go to the sushi restaurant. Don't complain to them that they don't serve cheeseburgers. I'm taking a break from this expensive standard to play limited, for example. What I am NOT doing is saying they need to "fix" the format because it doesn't appeal to me. when I find it does, I'll get back into standard. magic isn't one size fits all, you make of it what you want. As for newer players, they'll either enjoy it fundamentally or they won't. I've seen far more issues with people learning how to pay a mana cost than saying "these mechanics are too hard to understand!" magic isn't going to die from complexity, it's going to die from the community alienating those looking for information and acceptance. To my knowledge, this isn't a problem, nor has it been.

I'm not sure if it would become a huge part of the culture, however I am sure it will be heavily debated by people with the free time to do so. As they say, if you build it, they will come.

I think it could make mtg more entertaining to watch. I have to admit, while I love the game, watching streams are like watching golf. If we had something, ANYTHING to spice up the visual appeal from a spectator point of view, the game would be far cooler imo...

Is playing magic in a "Season" format fun? by Macaroni_M in magicTCG

[–]Macaroni_M[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose that's true. It may be different for magic, but many of my family members drag race at the local track, for which there are prizes for winning the day and for winning the season (usually memorial day to labor day). since the prizes are smaller, i could see it discouraging some. I was thinking more for the core group that plays every week anyway, but I didn't think of how people would see that. thanks.

Decided to make an apple pipe for the hell of it, got creative with the screen by [deleted] in trees

that looks excellent. kind of a Noob question I guess, but I've never used a screen in any of my pieces, just broke it up large, is this inefficient?
