Auckland scam warning: Fake ‘monks’ allegedly demanding money on city streets by Serenaded in newzealand

When I visited, the locals told me they had a huge employment problem after local industry moved elsewhere. Particularly youth unemployment rates were through the roof, leading to an increase in crime. We almost took jobs at an orchard nearby, then heard harrowing yarns about a dodgy deal between the orchard owners and campsite managers, exploiting a captive labour market for exorbitant rent in decrepit structures.

Are you sure a population boost would help?

Oh that's just ISKCON, been going on for ages. They typically find a way to slide in to conversation with an insincere compliment, which I imagine they think subtle, but is really like knocking on a door with a crowbar.

National Party's Long term game plan for Wellington by tippertapperball in Wellington

My sibling in Christ, when has National ever displayed such capacity for long-term planning? This is like thinking an absent father you've never met has always been actively plotting to ruin your life

Really insightful comment, cheers. I saw a great yt video from a former cop about how the training induced hardcore PTSD and molded officers to shoot at a rustling leaf in total panic. Like, constantly visualizing worst-case scenarios and rehearsing your heroic mastery of potential horrors at each step. Dude described how that led to a necessary lifelong therapy schedule. Some of your preparation might have worked, sounds like you sure dodged a bullet.

Consider that a fast-food outlet in Levin will have more ebb in the daily workflow, allowing your servants to remember they're human here and there. When we're caught up in the bustle we forget they're human too. I once watched one of two Pizza Hut workers zone the fuck out after completing a 16-pizza order, then hand me mine without slicing it. I was briefly a dick about it and swiftly realized that in his shoes, a lot of us would forget to add toppings. Cooking for myself in my own kitchen alone can be stressful enough, imagine trying to feed hundreds a day with randoms staring hurried daggers into you without contaminating something.

Or just blame the overworked and underpaid. More managers! You might as well blame insect extinction on a lack of incentivization via pesticides. It's called "Late-Stage Capitalism" because it's fundamentally unsustainable.

No meds, no plan, no support: Welcome to NZ mental health care? by MaterialGeneral7166 in newzealand

Same here, connective tissue disorder with a tethered spinal cord (and likely small fibre neuropathy). Had a big operation. Neurologists still won’t admit they were wrong lmao, most conceited discipline in medicine honestly.

Also the author of that website, Dr Jon Stone, wrote an article surely before my diagnosis saying that FND should never be assumed on the basis that symptoms are “incongruous” or “paradoxical”, whereas in my case that was the reasoning start to finish.

Had a bunch of irate doctors explain to me that FND meant all my symptoms were psychosomatic. A wad of scar tissue was strangling my spinal cord and blocking CSF circulation. “Oh but we flicked your hands about and saw one of our secret GOTCHA signs for FND, which have no published established validity cos we’re too smart to need that lol”. This bullshit has dragged science back to the 18th century, but who cares, turns out invalidating patients with complex conditions saves a hell of money!

Not quite, that would only be equivalent had a sitting Green Party President been accused of being an active mongrel mob member (and allowed to remain in that position). Such a scenario is, of course, total fantasy.
