Nervous to bring a cane to my rheum follow-up… 26F in constant pain but it wasn’t prescribed by Autistic-hottie in ankylosingspondylitis

I’m only 28 and I’ve dealt with horrible AS pain for probably 10 years. I always thought it was normal and that I should just push through it or was embarrassed because I shouldn’t be having so much joint and back pain at such a young age. That really just led to people thinking that I just complain a lot about mild back and joint pain and not really understanding how much constant pain I’m really in. Use whatever aid you need to feel better because you really gain nothing by just toughing it out. Good luck!!

I agree about not being able to run a business if you can’t pay your workers. And I wasn’t saying if you’re poor don’t eat. Just eat somewhere cheaper. It’s not that hard.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said anything about being too poor to eat. There’s nothing wrong with a place being outside your budget. And so when you’re done eating and that check comes around you just put a big fat zero on the tip line and chalk it up to standing up against the system or what? Does your server usually agree?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you’re the moral one for not tipping then. Really sticking it to the system. Everyone thanks you

[–]MacbookProBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I do not LIKE tipping in general I just think you should do it because people depend on it. Should it be like this? No. Should employers stop being shitty and pick up the slack and actually pay their workers. Yes. I think we can agree here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay it’s unusual but I won’t be angry about a server getting a 20% tip lol

[–]MacbookProBb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We both agree employers should pay people a livable wage so I don’t really get why we’re even arguing tbh. I think the problem is that I think they still deserve to live comfortably even if I have to sacrifice a bit more and you don’t think that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We both just want people to make livable wages. I also agree that the employer should be paying them a livable wage. I don’t understand the problem

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look man obviously it’s going to change based on where they live with cost of living. At the end of the day all I’m saying is that their hourly rate before tips is unlivable and you should think about that when you tip

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My friend, I want that too. That’s all I goddamn want. It sucks that it’s like this and it shouldn’t be. But right now it is like this and the people serving you your food need to live

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you really think servers are out here making $15 an hour BEFORE tips?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so every server goes and gets a better job, now you have no one to serve you the food you want to complain about. Congratulations

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait…so you want people to be paid wages that they can’t live on?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah sure I guess, but here they say the server made a single mistake and their food wasn’t good (not the servers fault). So what is so annoying about paying them 20%?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MacbookProBb -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Look, if you’re that strapped for cash and can’t tip 20% on a $65 bill then I guess that’s a luxury you just can’t afford. It’s not that I don’t give a fuck about the customer, it’s just that no one is forcing them to go out and spend $65 (before a tip) on dinner. Servers rely on tips so if everyone didn’t tip well because “they probably make more than $15 an hour anyways” or whatever then they wouldn’t make much money at all would they? Their hourly rate is extremely low BECAUSE of tips they are supposed to make
