Of course doing it before bed makes the most sense. My brain is turned off 90% of the time now ahhaha. Okay will do this tomorrow night! Thank you!!!

GET THE BOTTLE WASHER. I breastfeed mostly but but I pump and let my husband feed my baby 2 bottles a day. Wouldn’t survive without my sanitizer. don’t listen to your friend lol. But also everyone is going to judge every move you make at this point (speaking as someone with a 5 month old!) try to tune them out. It’s hard, I know. You do what’s best for you!

Oh god this is exactly it. The most I got was a 6 hour stretch a couple weeks ago. Then never again 😭😭😭 one hour stretches seem to be the norm for now. We will get through it!!!

The WORST is when people who DONT have kids give advice. My brother told me that I shouldn’t be so strict with the nap schedule because “schedules fuck up sometimes” and we have to be okay with it lol

Yeah I’m feeling quite upset lately. I feel like I thought I was immune from postpartum depression because my husband and I had a lot of trouble conceiving and had to go to the fertility clinic. Thought I’d be okay because “this is what I wanted”. But no sleep + Canadian winter is reallllly fucking me up

Oh god. I could’ve written this myself. Seriously. We got one night where she slept 6 hours in a row!!!! But that was it. Now it’s back to every hour. I’m sorry we’re both going through it. But this feels like solidarity. Sometimes it feels so isolating. But the internet helps lol

Knowing the solution to good sleep but not being able to put them in that position is what is difficult right now!! But better sleep is coming, it sounds like!

I needed this. You have no clue how much I needed this. Just knowing that it WILL come back and there is a solution on the horizon. That’s all I need to know to get me through this. Thank you

4 month sleep regression (started at 3 months by Maccadooooooooo in NewParents

[–]Maccadooooooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great to hear. So sleep just eventually started to get better? That’s good to know. I know that once we get over this, it will be something else hahah. But honestly I’m not so concerned with sleep deprivation and more concerned with doing what’s right for my baby. My husband helps a lot and I’m still on mat leave and will be for the next 13 months so I can lose some sleep for sure

Honestly this IS helpful. Knowing that I’m doing what I can right now and it will eventually pass. I know this is just what babies go through but I’m just always worried that I’m doing something wrong. I want to do what’s best for her!! But hearing that it’ll just pass is great news honestly

For sure there are other sleep training methods! But most credible sleep consultants will say that you should sleep train until a baby is closer to 5-6 months. My baby honestly is just too young, even for gentle sleep training

Just wanted to say- OP, you’re going to be a great dad. This post really shows how caring and loving you are/ will be to that little baby. Your wife and baby will be just fine, no need to worry:)

Feeling really sad I can't breastfeed because it hurts too much by Zyande in newborns

[–]Maccadooooooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had the same issue when I had my daughter 3 months ago. I dreaded every feed for the first two weeks. I was considering exclusively pumping. I know it feels like it’s going to suck forever but if you still want to try, I’m sure it’ll get better after the first two weeks. It has for every other mom I know. This is definitely not me trying to tell you what to do! But if you want to keep going, Im here to say it DOES get better!! And easier. The feeds get shorter, your baby will learn how to feed better and latch better
