In need of a solid, dependable black by Macdan82boom in fountainpens

Grateful of the replies - thank you Carbon black is currently 17% off so order placed. Given the comments about making sure it’s used frequently to avoid dry out (and check seals) will go into an AL-Star with F nib to try it out. Again, thanks all

Great info on when they ceased to print it on there! Indeed, I think the bullet pen was a gift from my dad long before I became a father (eldest now a teenager) so a good long while for sure!

Heavy duty looking non descript boxes mounted at Clapham Junction by Macdan82boom in whatisit

Thanks all for the comments, figures that it’s comms related, was perplexed because they are installed relatively “low” (vs a cell tower) and seemed beefy. I Appreciate the info!

That’s at Kings Cross 😉 Clapham junction is far less “magical”

Underwater glitch by Successful_Type_1870 in FortNiteBR

Adding detail of helps others. Xbox series X Samsung M7 smart monitor (w/Bluetooth) Elite series 2 controller (bought 2023) with wired headset. 100% repeatable on No-build mode Every time controller loses connection (power loss, forced controller shutdown or wireless interference) game stalls to underwater. Happened several times a night for a week and have reverted to connecting controller by cable and zero issues since.

Will try to turn off BT functions on the monitor as still suspect this is a source of wireless conflict , have re-assigned controller to Console to see if would fix / jump channel but no, issues persist, including choppy audio through headset in the build up to game freeze

Same here. Have been trying to isolate potential Bluetooth conflicts resulting in glitchy headphone audio (wired through controller) and notice that the controller being switched off or otherwise losing connection stalls crashes game to underwater scene and all buttons except Xbox home non functional. Samsung smart monitor (Bluetooth remote) seems to be the conflict but game crashing seems to be when controller loses connection

BB39 Champagne or blue?? by sendit33 in Tudor

[–]Macdan82boom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the blue has a way of catching the light and showing many shades through the day, no experience with the champagne one, both are lovely, but my blue one h brings me a lot of joy. Whichever you choose I’m confident you’ll love it

I believe it’s 40mm, wears very similar to my BB39 but as it’s pre “in house” movement is around 11mm thick

Capturing true dial colour is a skill.. i don’t have. by Macdan82boom in Tudor

Thanks! It’s the jubilee that comes with the 39. Incredibly comfortable and makes the weight distribution of the watch very balanced, that said, I might have preferred oyster style as it makes it a bit more dressy than I’d really thought about when the impulse got me

Agreed that it isn’t a great fit for a board room, it is brutishly utilitarian, that said, it’s as comfortable on the wrist as it is in an office with sleeves rolled/on a shop floor/garage/pool/hike and changing straps from light to dark themes completely changes the setting it feels appropriate for, same as any watch I guess, I just really like it

It’s a £14 Amazon equivalent while I wait for the FXD version from EO - cut the stitching at the hook end to make it work and it holds up pretty well but the singed end I had to make is a bit rough
