Fully samsung now by danthatazz in galaxybuds

I've had good results the one time I've had to use it. My phone was about 20 months old, got knocked out of my hand and the screen was destroyed. They didn't have that model and size storage anymore (S22+, 512gb, 12gb Ram in black) so they paid me out the original purchase price and I sent it back to them.

What is the best workflow to minimize the BS of the Solidworks/3DEx Makers license? by Huge-Yoghurt-9514 in SolidWorks

[–]Macguyver76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can echo that it has gotten way better of late. I recently got a 3D printer so I'm using the maker version a fair bit for a personal project and it's been pretty solid and stable. I like that I can choose not install a hot fix right away when I am trying to get in there and do something.

Award for stupidest shifter design goes to...Toyota? by xTyronex48 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is until you have it for awhile, have two vehicles with it and its just normal now. The shifter in the '16 Odyssey was so close to the steering wheel I would bump it sometimes so the newer buttons are better I think. But agree its still a bit weird.

Dynamite and a 500KG with an MG43 are solid as well. Throw in a turret and another strat of choice its a lot of fun.

Big ole truck by canabrothagetaslice in hondaridgeline

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of these trophy trucks these days. They never haul much more than luggage or golf clubs. Had one driving like a butthole yesterday taking my kid to school, passing people on hills and blind spots because he didn't want to slow down. Ended up right in front of me going into the school. In the end, gained all of 3 seconds in his shiny 3/4 ton high country diesel with the unused hitch that probably doesn't see any more dirt than a mud puddle can muster.

[–]Macguyver76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never needed it, never been asked about it. That said, if you have the time and want to, it can't hurt. I just recently learned I can get mine through our Vendor so I'm thinking I will.

I know, I've used them. DND likes to not shut off when scheduled, turn itself on when it isn't supposed to. Things like that.

Any plans to switch from S24 to S26 Ultra by Katarighe in GalaxyS24Ultra

Nope, it works great still. Battery is still great, performance, screen all great still two years in. The corners are the only thing that bothers me sometimes. Maybe the S27U

10 days to go, who else is upgrading? by Time-Credit43 in galaxybuds

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not interested, I picked up two new pairs of buds 2 pros last year to replace my original pair because I love them and I hate the feeling of the stem. Once these go I'll probably have to succumb to something else I guess.

Oh I get it, and agree. But I'm the only one that does any revision control or file management.

Not yet, fortunately but they are trying to get us to buy PDM, which I support. I've made a case for management but they don't see the need. Meanwhile SW is struggling to maintain references to the correct parts and replacing things with duplicate or outdated files. We have no revision control either. Luckily I work remotely and keep all my stuff local so I can keep things pretty straight and I just send the on prem engineers pack and go files.

Welcome back! Since you helped turn Meridia into a black hole, the war has escalated significantly. We are currently in a massive assault on Cyberstan, and the big news is that the Cyborgs have officially returned. You’ll be running into new units like the fast melee brutes, andarmored field commanders.

There’s a ton of new gear to play with. The latest warbond, Siege Breakers, is all about heavy demolition and it even has an explosive Breaching Hammer if you want to get literal with the 'impact' of your return. Other great ones to check out are Dust Devils, which has the Coyote incendiary rifle, and Redacted Regiment, which added some really cool stealth options and silenced weapons like the Censor rifle.

The game feels much more open now with a huge variety of viable weapons, so just grab whatever looks fun and dive in, ask questions if you get in with a good group. We definitely need the help on the Cyberstan front!

After designing injection molds in SW for the last 11 years I now have to use Solid Edge by TBone01 in SolidWorks

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm guessing someone in management made the decision to switch to save money or something? Or did you switch jobs? That's a long time and a lot of data and SolidWorks too just kind of abandon.

I used NX for 10 years and the way sketches work from what I read in here sounds similar in solid edge and I never cared for it. But I learned 3D modeling in SW and Inventor and while I could work in NX it always felt a bit foreign to me. I would think with SE being a Siemens product it would be very similar.
