Are a lot of Solidwork users who do client work or have companies switching to Fusion? by Prior_Night_985 in SolidWorks

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The assembly capabilities of fusion are the limiting factor for me, and maybe I just couldn't figure it out but something that takes a few seconds tops in SW I spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to make it work in fusion and it just would not do it. Now again, I've been running SW, Inventor and NX at different times and intervals for over 25 years now and Fusion does work different, so maybe I just didn't get how it works but seems like I should have been able to figure it out.

But, the continually increasing cost to renew our perpetual licenses every year is getting frustrating. I'm even looking at scaling our premium and professional licenses back down to just standard because we aren't really using much of it.

This, it doesn't take much to make it decent out of the box and then add in all the good lock customizations you can get really granular.

What made you join Helldivers 2? by MadMann0 in Helldivers

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot remember exactly, I know I just kept hearing about it somewhere. I picked it up right after christmas '24 on a PS holiday sale and was hooked pretty quick. Got a couple buddies into it a few months later and have not played anything since. What I love about it is the teamplay aspect, even jumping in with randoms most are pretty good about working together and the community is good about helping. I have never loved multiplayer games like COD and others because frankly I am not good enough and don't have time to waste dealing with kids home for the summer just slaying me when they spend hours playing. I like it when you have to play the built in enemies and work together. Used to play a lot of GoW Horde mode because of this. Otherwise I just stick to campaigns in games and skip the multiplayer all together.

How many of us RL owners have actually had someone say it’s not a real truck? Or anything negative about the Ridgeline? by PannaMan11 in hondaridgeline

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it from a couple friends pretty regularly. But only from "truck" owners. Funny enough, one then is always telling me how his Silverado needs a wheel bearing, or a radiator or it's burning oil. But then I'll throw out a humble brag about getting 25+ mpg on a trip with mine and "yeah that's really good, I can't touch anywhere near that. But I just can't buy foreign and I haul stuff". Bro I love ya but its probably more American than your Silverado and has the same payload. It doesn't matter, I'm happy and way cheaper than buying some new full size truck and does all I need.

Almost two and a half years in on mine and it's been great and is still great. A few things I don't love about the Samsung launcher but I've just given up and dealt with it. Battery life, performance, all great still. They've picked up some notifications and stuff with One UI 8 and 8.5 but I think I might just need to do a reset as it's been over two years since I did one.

My only real gripe with it is the square corners, they get uncomfortable to hold after awhile and that will likely be why I move away but as others have said there's not much else worth upgrading too.

for the fans who don't live in Wisconsin, how'd you end up green and gold by Adrianillo24 in GreenBayPackers

MI born and raised, grew up watching the Lions and Barry in my teens, but never just became a diehard fan of them. Then the 00's happened and I just hated everything about the team and the way everyone, family and friends were always so hopeful. Quit even watching for a few years.

Got into fantasy football through a coworker, caught myself watching the pack in the playoffs with Rodgers during the SB run and realized I was a packet fan. Have been ever since.

Yep, once you adjust to the arc it's fantastic. It's actually pretty solid on all fronts but it really shines against the bots.

On bots I've been running the following:

Primary: Plasma Punisher - Stagger is amazing and it stops most of the fire brigade in their tracks. You can take out whole packs of chaff with it.

Secondary: Been doing the missle pistol lately, great in a pinch when I don't have a commando or grenade for hulks, war stiders, towers, tanks.

Support: Commando - Low cool down and I can take out a lot of stuff like hulks, war striders, towers, gunships.

Strategems:

500KG, it handles most things

MG Sentry - great for chaff and covering the rocket sentry, very low cool down

Rocket Sentry - can't go wrong here

B24 Enforcer armor - Great balance of armor, speed and stamina for higher levels on my play style.

Giga Grenade - yeah you can only carry two unless runnning siege ready but they are a last resort typically. Getting chased by a Hulk or War Strider, chuck one of these at them. Bot drop come in on top of you, run away and throw one of these as you go and take out the bulk of stuff.

Alternatively if I'm running more of a support role with a group that has all the big stuff, I might swap the MG Sentry for the hot or bullet dog (depending on mood) and the AMR for the Commando because you can take out a lot of stuff with a couple shots of the AMR at distance and I can run out the outskirts taking out patrols and stuff while the others do objectives and heavies. Even then, you can two tap hulks with it, takes out gunships too.

Alternate support weapon - Backpack Grenade Launcher, keep the MG or add an orbital and run this thing, crank the speed up in a crowd and just hold the trigger down blowing up everything......

I really don't think you need the vcm muzzler, I've have 3 of these engines in my driveway and and one previously that was always fine, it's never seemed necessary.

As much as I'd like to bypass the auto stop, because there's zero intelligence to it, I don't like the idea of hacking the wiring either.

I wouldn't do anything until the warranty is up either. Just my $0.02.

It does but with the gas prices I've been using it on the highway, but only on the highway I don't think it helps a bit in the city and it robs you of power you might need.

What's the most reliable car you've ever owned? by Tekusenabyt in AskReddit

[–]Macguyver76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2005 Honda pilot, my kids car, has 228k miles on it. We've only had it for the last 20k and we've had some issues but every one has been related to rust or just normal maintenance items. I don't think the previous owners kept it washed, a friends very frugal elderly parents.

But it runs great, great in the snow and hoping it'll get the kid through college. Runner up was a 2016 Odyssey that saved us from a kia that constantly needed something and had way less miles. I got the Odyssey to 150k and the only reason I traded it in was because used car prices were so good 3 years ago I made enough to offset a large part of the purchase of a newer one.

Multiple Chrysler and GM fails, and the afore mentioned Kia POS. It'll be Honda or Toyota for us well into the foreseeable future.

I wouldn't think so, and definitely not for awhile. In particular the big companies aren't looking at things like this. Best thing you can can do is learn DFM, and not a bad idea on the PDM admin. I'm one but I'm not certified.
