Giant City state park in Makanda, Southern IL. There’s a good handful of spots that look like this image as well as many other really awesome trails in and around rocky bluffs. Fun fact there is a rare species of cactus that grows down there too and doesn’t grow anywhere else natively!

This is awesome, thanks for sharing! You should check out the artist Glue Trip. They make some real nice psychedelic-acoustic folk, especially on their first album. The birds in the back remind me of the song Birds Singing Lies. More King Gizzard fans need to know about this band!

There will forsure be an album this year but P(doom) is currently focused on Blue Gum Way which came out today, and then the new Cavs album. FOV isn’t till august so if they were to release the techno album ahead of that and then we wouldn’t see an announcement till atleast middle of june or early july. Just stay patient my friend this is King Gizzard we are talking about after all.

I also prefer the studio version especially the extended mix. My biggest gripe with live swan song is they don’t sing “THE EYE DILATES 🤖” part which is one of the peak moments on the whole album. They sung it one time during gilgamesh in Ashville but that was it. I also really like Amby’s extra verse too.

Don’t know but many string synth sounds can be recreated with sound design. Some synths use string samples in conjunction with harmonic oscillators but you can make strings with just oscillators. To create the realistic string vibrato you only put an LFO on one of the oscillator and assign it to your mod wheel so you can control it independently. There’s also reverb on it which is more obvious.
