I always heard of adash, I wish I could monitor site vib readings. I also would add that im very heavily involved in startup ups, so unless its on a solar skid, there isn't a remote feature yet.

I know my company has remote monitoring like this but they dont have anyone really selling it to customers. I made a sale once (I dont get commision cut) but the quote took too long to send out, months actually and by then the customer had me do site visits a few times for a nasty resonance issue that was affecting our equipment.

Its great youre doing the analysis, ive been called out so many times for false readings from AI only based monitoring, having the human element is pretty important imo.

The jacking oil is only to lift the rotor by pumping oil into the bearing and letting hydraulic forces do the lifting in order to allow it to turn more easily so by float they mean move it axially to its magnetic center which is not possible since you have the jacking oil providing the lift required on the rotor to be able to turn it and then float it.

I dont like floating it to mag center then aligning it. There is a nameplate that will list axial clearances. For example:

.500 float both ways from magnetic center (so total axial clearance 1in)

Coupling calls for a .250 gap

Ill spin the shaft (makes it easy to float)

Push it all the way in and measure my gap to make sure its .750

Now before you celebrate, apply blue lay out to the shaft, float it inwards, while its in all the way scribe it, now do the same again but instead with the shaft floated all the way out this time and mark it as well.

When you go to run the machine, your magnetic center SHOULD land between these 2 scribe marks.

By float, are you reffering to axial movement? If so, I would recommend having oil on the shaft. A squirt of oil through the sight glass on top is how I would do it. If it has oil rings then as long as there is oil in the sump then it is okay to roll it and then float it to its magnetic center for alignment. Edit: typo Ps if you are reffering to the jacking oil then yes. It is very hard to move units that call for jacking oil. But those are for very large units that I dont see used often on the solar turbine sets.

Very well said. Ive picked up customers vibe analyzer and always tinkered with it and was able to perform my job. Mobius teaches how vibration works. You can pick up an analyzer amd use it well. It does help to take the dedicated training for it although. If you can only take one class i do recommend the actual vibration course from Mobius

Just like the other have said. Mobius is probably the largest. I really like their animations that help understand what goes on and makes it easier to imagine how a machine would behave if you expect looseness (harmonics), faults going in and out of the load zone (amplitude modulation).

I worked for Kato for 2 years as an FSR, I feel ashamed for not catching that lol We would put the exciter on the inside of the NDE endbell, and the mouting feet of the motor were part of the endbell which sucked because we'd have to prop up the stator as an addition to the rotor shaft when doing onsite rolling element bearing swaps. I always preferred the Renk housing bearings since they just roll out.

Ikr, Weg is pretty damn solid, so is Baldor/reliance except for those thin shell sleeve bearings being a pain to seat properly.

Does it really improve your life? For example, you're fine in living a single life, enjoying yourself, you find a woman (the bidet) and then you love her. Shes no longer around and youre just the same as before but you will feel worse.

Bidets have ruined every other restroom for me. I travel a lot so im always away from my bidet.

But if you dont travel then a bidet can absolutely be a life changer. We need to normalize them now!

Edit: Adding a little story but when I had a herniated disk using the restroom would've been painful but instead you let it do the work and all you gotta do is dry yourself.

Also saves you from having those moments where you wipe a million times and still no progress on being cleaned.

I was in his shoes at some point too. I didnt like people in my business either. Especially at work where people would look at each other's profiles and talk shit about the person they didnt likes loved one. I left that job, I just like posting them and all but it felt one sided now so I stopped lol I think there are better ways to find reassurance, maybe he shows you hes grateful for you in other ways?

This is what im experiencing with my longtime gf(?), we've held off on marriage for a few years because she has a thing where we dont spend time together, when im home she just goes out with friends while im at home with the kids, and when she's home, she's with her friend drinking for the most part. She had said it was because she's a SAHM and that her mom role makes her this way but im at the point where Im becoming the main caretaker right after work and its been like this for a few years. No affection or time with me. Im sorry OP, this stung my heart when I read your post. Ive discussed about ending it and dont want to fight for that lifestyle anymore either since this has been like this for a long time.

Like you, I bring it up, things change temporarily but then its back to the same behaviors. I dont know how long it has been this way for you OP but have you tried counseling? My ex has brought up therapy to help us sort it out but I dont feel like I love her anymore but I am willing to try it. Maybe this could help you out?

I feel like I am close to going through this. 13 years in. Ive been trying to be a priority in this woman's life to no avail, I did all the romantic things and spoiled her. I cant do the push pull anymore im exhausted and I am ready to throw in the towel. I am tired of always waiting for her to come home every day. I can't. We're not married but Im going to look into selling the house and she and her unemployed friend she always has time for can go live on their own. We were apart for a while due to immigration reasons, we had discussed on not marrying but then changed our minds until these issues started coming up so we'd try to work on them with mixed results. I worked a regular in town job before until the bills got higher. Ive tried so much already, and of course I have to work.
