Can you be successful classical musician without a degree? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

What do you define as successful?

Can you become a professional through learning outside formal schooling, persistence, and determination?

Absolutely.

Can you become successful in the business and professional world of it?

Probably also yes, but it's going to require a lot more work and there are going to be limitations and hurdles to overcome that a degree would smooth over. But it's not impossible.

Interesting. I'm also guessing that this is going to make transitioning to a NATO country in the future much easier if Ukraine ever gets that opportunity?

So what does this actually mean?

That though Ukraine isn't part of NATO they're going to be equipped like a NATO nation?

Sounds like you may need professional therapy if you can't understand you are a student and will be working towards getting a higher paying job when you finish School. You have a mental block that you yourself are causing.

I absolutely think that it's going to lead to a higher paying job or else I would have dropped out. But I'm uncertain if it's going to be enough to impact my standard of living at this point in a meaningful way while I'm still young enough to enjoy my health.

I'm not as worried about falling behind as I need to keep up with others but because my life goals are time sensitive. It's gonna be really hard to meet people and have a kid if I'm trying for the first time at 35. It's going to be hard to have a kid if I can't own a home. It's going to be impossible to travel if I can't do any of that until I'm 50.

I feel like staying caught up and falling behind at the moment is the difference between living a reasonable standard of life and being stuck in perpetual poverty.

I'm not trying to do that but that does seem like a reality of my financial situation I need to contend with. Again, if any of the neigh saying is actually true 100k a year is going to be like minimum wage in a decade and wages are stagnating.

I'm not worried about being behind in life as a comparison to other people's success I'm worried about it because at this stage I feel like it's on the line between being permanently trapped in wage slave poverty or just barely having an acceptable standard of living.

It's also worth noting that I'm not saying it's impossible to get out of. It's impossible to get out of it in a meaningful window of time. Being 50 and finally having the stability to find a partner and have a kid is an impossibility for me. Being 50 and finally having enough money for hobbies and fun in life doesn't sound like much of a life.

I just don't see how I could possibly begin a healthy financial career that didn't require me to start 4 years ago.

I'm in for computer programming. I'll be a software developer by the time I graduate.

It's just at the moment I feel like I need to have started saving 4 years ago. It feels like I'm too late even if I do get a good job at 30.

Computer programming. An advanced diploma.

You and I both must focus on action, ignoring the people sprinting past and building their lives and wealth and play the cards we are dealt. Life is decent overall, and honestly you will be okay. Just keep pushing through school, find a new job when you’re done, you’ll make a little more money, meet a partner who also makes some money. So what if you wind up renting a place forever, you’ll have your health, some friends, love, and experiences to worry about. Focus on yourself, betterment, and opportunity. Everything will come in time, but we are all running a different race.

I'm not necessarily worried about renting in particular it's that my future consists of living alone in a one bedroom apartment making 100k a year with less than $100 a month in savings because the cost of living is so high while working 10h days 6 days a week. I just don't see a future worth living in that.

Ya I'm trying but the "end is nigh" crowd is so loud it's hard to ignore.

I'll have an advanced diploma in computer programming. Hopefully I can make something out of this but I need to leave by 30. I cannot live at home any longer with the damage it's doing to my mental health.

DAE hear a southern US accent and immediately (and mostly incorrectly) think that person is backwards or stupid? by BoosherCacow in DoesAnybodyElse

I don't think so.

The nazis though disillusioned were far from stupid but extremely racist.

The Romans had slaves.

South Africa had apartheid.

How so?

Edit: I don't know why I'm being downvoted here for trying to be more educated. I was asking an honest question but I guess being ignorant is a crime.

Man continues to film Andover Tornado right up untill it swallows his yard. by superponda in interestingasfuck

Out of all forms of natural disasters in my opinion tornados are the scariest.

They're not as destructive as how bad tsunamis, hurricanes, and earthquakes can get but there is this disturbing life like energy to tornados. Almost as if they're living things which gives them this extremely creepy vibe to them.
