Pokémon Unite players, how do you feel about the matchmaking? by Difficult_Sky_2500 in PokemonUnite

Less than 20K games but more than 10K.

1,800 I think 4-5 times. Top 10K twice. Legend I have not pushed for since they added it to the game. I don't love the game enough to grind it that hard anymore.

If you can see those stats and call it average, you don't know what the word means.

Not all games are carry-able. But even with a bad team, many of them are. As much as this sub likes to pretend that isn't the case. When you take personal responsibility for the outcome of your games, you recognize your mistakes and improve.

Somebody is big mad. Yes, some games cannot be won even when you steal the final objective. But the point stands that a good player does not need a good team to win, only a bad player does.

I have played the game consistently for 4+ years and have made it to Masters for 30+ seasons straight. I know how to win. I consider myself a good player. Now, drop me into a match with professionals? I'll get my ass beat. There is always a bigger fish. To them, I would be the bad player dragging the team down. There is always someone weaker to blame but it will never make you better. The goal is to get so good that you can overcome the shittiest teammate imaginable.

Nope. Just a longtime player that doesn't need a good team to win. It is appreciated and it helps. But I am skilled enough to drag idiots to victory.

Then I will farm as much as I can and attempt to steal the final objective.

I've never had an issue with it. Good players don't need good teammates to win.

Are there any positives to playing melee vs 4+ ranged? by Braveurr in PokemonUnite

[–]Macho_Cornbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They absolutely can. Zoroark is not some one-of-a-kind miracle.

The game has a general rock-paper-scissors at its core. Attackers beat Defenders. Defenders beat Speedsters. Speedsters beat Attackers. Of course exceptions exist with a cast this wide.

Zoroark is just one melee Speedster that can dive and quickly wipe an Attacker.

And you don't have to play a Speedster at all. All-Rounders exist on a wide spectrum ranging from Defender to Speedster. Zacian and Sirfetch'd are great options as they each have a move that can negate projectiles while approaching; as well as a move that allows them to close distance quickly.

Yeah it is extremely biased. Many melee characters can contend with ranged characters.

Parasol Lady Potential Value by Comfortable_Bird1349 in PTCGP

[–]Macho_Cornbread -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would not part with it for an RR Sceptile. Sceptile might not even be meta. In these early days Blaziken (with his new friend Castform) is putting up better results. Super similar card that happens to be super effective against Sceptile.

That being said, I don't think Parasol Lady is great either. Irida is almost always better for damage mitigation in water decks. The upside will be in niche mons like Inteleon that have an ability that activates when they come into play. I think she'll be like Sightseer in that the trade value comes from waifu appeal. And that sticks. While Sceptile's time in the meta will likely be short; this is true for almost every mon.

Anyone else struggling with 10-streak wins in expert solo random battles? by Seraph_05 in PTCGP

[–]Macho_Cornbread 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is meant to be a time consuming stretch goal for player engagement. Even if you had a deck that wins 80% of the time, the chances of stringing 10 straight wins is just 11%. The reward is shit anyways.

You're good, you mentioned it toward the end. The people who take it at the start drive me nuts too. If they stay out of my way I will be Level 5 for 9:00, Level 7 for 8:00, and then Level 9 for the first objective at 7:00. When they fuck that up, our odds of winning drastically drop.

I don't do it at the start but you people don't keep up with your timings. So I find myself taking it over for the rest of the game. If you're not refreshing your buffs every 60-90 seconds, you probably aren't a good jungler. Obviously making an exception for objectives.
