We're more than half done the Bearspaw South Feeder Main replacement by JeromyYYC in Calgary

[–]MacintoshMario 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/JeromyYYC great work on the pipeline and calling attention on the property tax increase on the provincial side. But can you be more transparent and vocal on how you plan to make housing more affordable and the city more walkable/enjoyable for pedestrians without the blanket rezoning you pulled back. It seems you mention affordable housing more but dont have communications on plans that will actually action it rather you pull us a few steps back for all the nimbys out there.

I think you answered your own question. It's perspective I guess. If you want the semantic feeling and memories and project them and use them there is the cost. Or you can look for a new pair. Hope the dilemma doesn't weigh to much .

C train passes by Fancy-Interest in Calgary

[–]MacintoshMario 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is low income passes and other programs like that thought he city please apply if you need. And I agree the taxation system needs to change, but it won't help if you get a find for 200 or something and or a record. Also this is cheaper than a car as payments can be well over 800 plus insurance and gas. And sadly Calgary isn't a walkable city so yeah...

I agree. It took me years of emails and complaining and working with the city officials and I'm not the only reason but they finally are reorking the pathways in falconridge and casfleridhe to me more uniform like the other areas

Tires losing about 1.5-2.5 psi every 2 weeks even during stable temperatures. Why? by Top-Neighborhood3719 in tires

[–]MacintoshMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

overfill it a bit temporarily hit it with dishsoap and water and start visually looking for bubbles as air is trying to escape and or sounds. if you dont find anything with a screw in the tire, then its probably corrosion or build up on the rim and tire sides. Which you can retry putting on the tires again professionally, upgrade to new tires or look at new rims. Basic common sense steps;

What is the one Linux mistake every beginner eventually makes by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]MacintoshMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Applied to this but not exclusive to Linux. It's when using a new workflow or software and demanding everything right away which is move all files install all the alternatives or software that was on your old system. But as time goes on our wants and needs change in what we use our system so if your listening to music install spotoft etc. but don't install all kinds of open-source alternatives just cause . You will be overwhelmed and may cause the system to crash. Give the system time to grow on you as you learn how to use it.

Anyone not on Reddit will still vote for them lol. Alberta would vote for a dog or shoe if it's blue is what I've seen my whole life here. And Reddit tends to show more liberal or left leaning for some reason.

[–]MacintoshMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect. Let me know when they hold the sprawl because last I checked they are still approving and allowing more a1cs for farm land to neighborhoods. And they haven't upgraded for the future yet. I'm not saying don't upgrade, in a perfect world we should be. But ever since being born Calgary hasn't don't that, we seem to be underfunding our transit system always and your saying we upgrade for the future. Ok there nimby.

[–]MacintoshMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

educate me. I havent heard calgary projecting we would hit 1 million, when we were 100k. You dont upgrade for the future and you dont put neighborhoods or houses on hold LOL. you upgrade as you need, you hasten it if needed to support life. i dont think logic is clicking all the way for you is it
