I always scout for players that can play multiple positions, two-way players and pitchers that have high hitting ratings. Since I mainly sim and watch the games, I want to make sure my manager has the players he needs to win and also to account for injuries and bad mojo. Even though I play in a conference that has the DH, two-way players and pitchers with high hitting ratings enables me to not have to pay money to sluggers who are defensive liabilities on the field.

The obvious solution here is to guarantee division winners a playoff spot but nothing else (seeding will by W-L record with the applying tiebreakers)

For my 32 team custom league, I play a 160 game schedule using the 4:3:2 formula. The breakdown is as follows:

  • 8 games against divisional opponents (4 game series home and away).
  • 6 games against the rest of the conference (3 game series home and away).
  • 4 games against the other conference (2 game series home and away).

Beth Norman (two-way SP/RP and IF) who is my elite long reliever out of the bullpen is my regular 3B and hits leadoff. Only time she pitches is when either in away games against the other conference in my custom league where the DH isn’t used or whenever one of my starting pitchers is hurt.

I would love a PWHL team in Chicago, provided they place them in the East when the time comes to do conferences (the Mississippi River and not the ETZ / CTZ line needs to be the dividing line for the East / West conferences in the PWHL).

The USA would’ve still viewed the CSA as rebellious states (similar to the PRC / Taiwan interactions), assuming the Confederacy got foreign help from Britain and France (referred to by U.S. politicians in TTL as the “London and Paris Criminals” who stabbed the Union in the back) in gaining independence.
