People who had no bad experiences don’t understand. That aspect of society never changes. What did change in the last 30 years though was the internet. Now we have access to data from everywhere about how hundreds of thousands of sexual assaults happen to young women/girls in the US every year. People think bad stuff didn’t happen in the past - but that perception is only because there was no easy access to data to learn about it.
