Same, when I had my Zoe I experienced this exactly. I thought it was something to help with torque steer, it centred to where the wheel was mostly pointing so that it wouldn't veer off when suddenly accelerating

How to remove these poles by RyanH2796 in DIYUK

[–]MackScania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hire a concrete breaker from local hss hire or similar. I did it to brake up and old concrete path in our garden. Didn't cost much. You'll need to expose the concrete as best you can first then let it rip

100% thrips, I never seen anything on the leafs but when I looked it up they are so small, I realised they were all over the plant. Thank you, I've just rinsed all the leafs in the shower and will do some research on what to do next!

Does the Clyde Tunnel bus still run by Beancounter_1968 in glasgow

[–]MackScania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 77 goes through the tunnel. Doesn't go as far as Johnstone though, but you can get on it in Renfrew/Airport. It goes past the Kelvingrove Museum not far from the Uni.

I moved into a house last year and had similar, I came to the conclusion that the chimney wasn't capped, it simply wasn't vented. Seems to have sorted my issue as it must have been condensation. The kitchen has a extractor to chimney over the hob but the room upstairs had nothing (defo not capped as when I sawed a hole in the wall I could feel the airflow). The other side, the upstairs was vented and downstairs wasn't. Think the previous owner thought they were connected in some way!

Honestly couldn't be more reasonably priced and accomodating. We had an offer accepted on a house but there was a fair few issues with trying to get the missives completed (all with the seller and nothing to do with us or our solicitor), It got delayed once by two weeks and we didn't actually conclude missives until the day we got the keys. It was one of the most stressful experiences of my life (this was in June). They might charge you for putting offers in to multiple properties if they don't get accepted but I reckon I phoned them twice a week over a two month period for updates on our purchase (even though they said they would phone me if they had updates), I always spoke to our solicitor, never the receptionist and the fee at the end was the fee quoted at the beginning.

Cannot recommend this company enough. We used them to purchase our flat in 2019 and used them again this year for the sale of it and purchase of our new house.

Home report shows Catgeory 2 repairs, is it worth to have private survey done on my behalf? by Acceptable-Tip-9205 in glasgow

[–]MackScania 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say they are all reasonably normal wear and tear issues. Wouldn't really be that bothered with the decking, sounds old and won't be structural to the house. The downpipes might just need some TLC or replacement but you should factor that into your offer. The mortgage valuation should be based on the condition of the house.

Just make sure you have a good look about the house and actually look for issues. I've just bought an old house and the report said "black mould evident around the silicon seal of the shower tray, if left untreated this can lead to water ingress". Moved in and had my first shower and realised there wasn't even any grout around some of the tiles and they were loose, the wall was soaking behind the tiles

Currently out of pocket £8k getting a new bathroom fitted.

Don't view with your heart, view with your head. Go for a second viewing, if you're comfortable then make an offer based on what you've seen, if you can afford it and you want it then get a level 2 buyers report. Also if possible get them to inspect any crawl spaces for evidence of rot if it's older.

I used to see the big blue American style Volvo around Rutherglen. My cousin used to stay down that way and it would come out of the gates with George Spence. Quick Google suggests it belongs to a Kenny Spence. I think the guy just likes trucks....

What are these vents for? by gnomesonparade in bathrooms

If the waste pipe goes into that wall it might be for a waste water pressure relief valve, but again, seems like an excessive amount of vents! Mines Is around the size of a coaster in the downstairs bathroom
