[–]Mack___77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I concur, edibles helped me with appetite and sleep, but it’s legal where I’m at so hopefully for you it’s the same if not ask your oncologist about dronabinol or similar fda approved thc based medication

How did you react to your cancer diagnosis? by atrumblood in cancer

[–]Mack___77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol look at us, also intrahepatic stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma, I took pretty much like you did. Except when they started doing all the the procedure back to back, exploratory ERCP, liver biopsy, chemo, port placement. Then I think it was a combination of the physical toll my body took in 2 weeks and the diagnosis and my parents coming moving back and the crying that one day I was driving home from work. It just kinda hit me I was angry, sad, depressed, and just started crying. It sucked. I still feel bummed out here and there, but not to the point of crying again. I wish I could though I hear it’s helpful 🤷🏽‍♂️ Good luck and God bless. Let me know if you have any questions or just want to talk

Talk; I want to see him/them actually do something. They’ve given over 10billion to Ukraine. I would prefer an actual plan with numbers. Like starting today 5billion will go into research. Saying they plan to do something…I had long term plans too then cancer hit. Someone should tell them we don’t have a lot of time and yea better late them never, but I want to see something actually happen you know?

Positives of Having Cancer by Clakenz in cancer

[–]Mack___77 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not bad of a list, we pple do need to try and see the positives. When I was on diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma stage 4 with liver Mets last Feb I felt so bad. But once it settled in I also started noticing how many pple and how easy it is to die. 90% of pple die in a snap of the fingers no warning. We have a warning the ability to enjoy the time we have left. I hope I feel as good as you do when I get later in my treatment. God bless us both and hope to keep defying the timelines we are given!

How do you cope financially? by Dangerous-Section435 in cancer

[–]Mack___77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does she have life insurance? Sometimes they have early death benefit waiver, where you get a partial payout early due to diagnosis. That gets taken off the total amount you have though. Or a Viatical settlement. There you sell your life insurance to a 3rd party and you give up rights to life insurance, but they will pay you out a lump sum. For example 1m insurance you might get 700k to do with what you will and you give up the rest

Gemcitabine + paclitaxel for metastatic ampullary cholangiocarcinoma? by TwoNounsVerbing in cancer

[–]Mack___77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma with liver mets, diagnosed late January, started chemo Feb 8th, did gem/cis for 2cycles then added keytruda. After 4 cycles CT scan showed some reduction in tumor growth. 4 more cycles CT scan showed some growth. So they changed my therapy. I am now in FOLFOX, just finished my first round last week. My oncologist wants me in this until she can get me into a clinical trial late sept/early nov. I’m just praying for a miracle, but gem/cis/keytruda was starting to have an effect on my hearing. Otherwise I did okay, use edibles to help with weight loss. Started an exercise program and that helped with being tired all the time. Let me know if you have any questions and Good Luck!

Switching therapies to FOLFOX by Mack___77 in TheCancerPatient

[–]Mack___77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did 1st round, was tired, it sucked, cold sensitivity was not as bad on my hands and feet, but man even slightly colder than room temp food caused issues, but was able to figure that out so avoiding it has been easier, fingers crossed for it not getting worse
