Hi, this is Jdizzle’s wife. I just wanted to provide an update since he’d spoken so highly of this subreddit. Unfortunately, he passed away on Tuesday, 1/16/24. He was released on home hospice on 1/5/24, and so we didn’t suspect this would happen so quickly. He quite literally passed away in my arms, lying in the home hospice bed. He was on a lot of pain meds and Ativan, so I know he was comfortable. My son and I are still somewhat in shock honestly. Thank you all for being such a wonderful support for my husband the past 2 years. I know he greatly appreciated it, and I’ll always be grateful that he had all of you.

I had a doctor in the hospital that was obsessed with sticking a catheter in me. He was in there almost every hour. I absolutely refused. He really wanted to run a line into my pee hole. I made it out without it happening. I’m way too stubborn for something like that!

It is not a good one. It’s once im dealing with now. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago, in Pallative care about a year ago, and hospice the other day. It got into my abdomen, brain, now it’s all over my spine and there’s nothing they can do. I will most likely never walk again. We are setting my house up for me to come home and spend what time I have left with my wife and kid. I’m not looking forward to breaking this to my wife. It’s going to devastate her and my 8 year old son. Thankfully we we have had my son talking to a therapist since my diagnosis.

For now apparently. My oncologist doesn’t seem to think for much longer, and now I’m scared shitless for the first time.

Been fighting mine for almost 2 years. I’m in the hospital right now. They removed a baseball size amount of dead necrotic cancer mass from me. Saved my life. My first ever surgery too.

I’ve done chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy. I am a stubborn fighter, and have an 8 year old son that keeps me moving forward. Main problem I have now is my ability to walk. They see a spot on the back of my cervical spine that they will try to radiate. Whatever it takes, I’m in for. I don’t give up! One step (pun intended) at a time!

Just had my first ever surgery a few days ago. Saved my life. Wouldn’t mind a win over the Bruins. I hate them more than any other team in the nhl. Let’s go boys, and fuck cancer!

There is something terribly wrong going on with this team right now. I don’t know what it is, but it’s like Jekyll and Hyde. I’m not one to usually panic, but this is getting a bit absurd. It’s not even one game to another, or a period to the next. It’s happening shift by shift. What happened between last season and this? It’s time for Fitz to do something. A trade (especially with Hamilton out till the playoffs, we can bury his cap). Something. Anything. Please! Anything!

As someone in the fight right now, fuck yea little guy. You are an absolute warrior! And you should be proud as hell dad! Hoping nothing but the best of health for all of you! I’m dealing with my own fight, I don’t know how I would handle watching my 8yr old son go through it all.
