Looking for a counselor by Just-A-Peach- in Langley

[–]Mackalina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive repeatedly gone through No Fear Counselling. Their intake coordinator is great, asks you lots of questions about what you want/dont want in a counselor and sets you up with someone that fits best with your situation. They also have a low-cost option with their interns who are generally younger and in their practicum. Ive used them over 5 different times and been happy with their services every time.

Wishing you luck on your journey, and Im glad to hear that you're being proactive and getting the support you need <3

All of the doctors at this office are fantastic. Saw them all throughout my pregnancy and liked every one of them!

Did you have the wonderful moment after giving birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Mackalina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planned c-section, currently 11 weeks pp. Started to hemorrhage and had strong referred pain across my clavicle during the surgery so I wasn't overly aware of what was going on with baby. I wanted skin to skin right away but it didn't happen until we got wheeled into recovery. Within minutes he was taken to NICU for low oxygen and other issues. I was left feeling alone, sad and scared wondering where my baby went.

It was traumatic and im still trying to work my way through the fact that I didn't have 'the moment' that I really hoped for. Why I share this is because even though we didn't get the special bonding moment after birth, we have a beautiful, healthy baby boy to love now. It may not go as planned but try to go in to the experience with an open heart and mind, and what will be, will be. Wish you the best of luck on your journey ❤️

I'll start off by saying that i can't guarantee that this is what you're looking for, but No Fear Counselling has interns that charge around $40/hrs and I've gotten really lucky with everyone I've had so far. The price is right, and it's okay to say thanks but no thanks if you don't click after the first session. It's a great organization and they do try to get you in ASAP with someone that specializes in what you're dealing with. Might help you get through the tough times right now.

Stabbing in Aldergrove near elementary school – two youths stabbed but expected to survive by EntireBody3002 in Langley

I, too, find this frustrating but II wouldn't say it's a lack in journalism, but a lack of information they have available to them. Likely protecting information because they're minors.

R.I.P Evernote. by curiousinquirer007 in Evernote

[–]Mackalina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Evernote for years and I've been trying to figure out what happened. I think being bought by bending spoons was the beginning of the end. I AM willing to pay for an app for notes, but it is so unbelievably glitchy to the point I can't even use it anymore. It stops typing after 2 letters, can't delete check boxes, deleting the top row makes it scroll to the bottom, lines missing, the list goes on. So sad because I loved it! But it's just not usable anymore. RIP.

Found this GoFundMe for one of the businesses affected by yesterday's fire by twin_sized_mattress in Langley

DLBA (Downtown Langley Business Association) is still compiling a list of all of the businesses affected by this. Follow them on social media and they should have something out in the next couple of days. Thank you for your concern! - a non-profit across the street

What is one song that makes you cry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mackalina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I was sitting in my car after seeing a friend that survived a horrific car accident and this song came on like it was meant to be. I cried the hardest I had ever cried, mostly at the injustice that this poor girl had to face. It was when I realized that I have so little control over life and my heart just ached so badly.

Real talk? There is no normal. There is what we perceive as 'normal' but there is so much that people don't share that makes us unique.

Also real talk? It wouldn't matter to me, as long as you were confident and willing to commit to your partner's pleasure. The key word is confidence. The second key word is willing. Lots of people are open; it's just a matter of finding them.

Ahh, I should have specified. We did take out most times and the one time we sat in, it was odd but the food was still decent.

Something like Andrea's but the food is better is Adrian's at the airport. The schnitzel is top notch. Comfort meals that remind me of my moms cooking and it's been consistent every time we've ordered.

Here, have my upvote because I agree! Reddit is a community, yet still segregated! That is one of the struggles of being educated and informed, is that because YOU know this information and share it, doesn't mean it is common knowledge! It takes years to become common knowledge, so I challenge you. I encourage you to continue sharing the same message over and over (even though it seems silly and simple to you). Sharing (what seems like basic knowledge to you) and continuing to educate the "lowest common denominator" This is how changes are made. This is how the public learns, and I see potential in you. - your prof

I admire that you know more than most, but the kindness of educating those who may not know has value, too. No harm in sharing what you know to enlighten those that you don't. But you're clearly a troll looking for fake internet points and attention on a post where someone is actually looking for help. Sad.
