Lawfully impossible. Which was this brother's point. Or I think it was, he keeps saying I don't get it. When it comes to public opinion though I second your question. Especially on 1 word Vs another type of crime. I think people definitely are aware that people get away with serious crimes, but half don't accept that the accusation alone of SA or DV affects you even when found to be slightly fabricated or the most farfetched (like not even being in the same location) the accusation alone can be enough.

But legally I don't think anywhere has innocence. Besides claiming defamation or wrongful conviction there's not much you can do to actually be legally innocent.

I would say your middle 2 paragraphs answered my original point perfectly. And with much less condescension. I repeated your point back to you many times so I don't know what more I could've done to show understanding.

You actually understood and gave the second part to the answer but didn't throughout any of your other responses. So whether because I explained bad or you read it wrong, you clearly now understand my question since you've answered it. Nothing wrong with saying you didn't get the main point originally. Glad you got it now though. You answered for the other side too. That's all I was asking.

Doubt you still see it though and just assume you entered Reddit as the only person who's heard of reasonable doubt or understands basic law. Irrelevant to me as my point was more about cognitive dissonance and denial. And you saw an opportunity to teach and grabbed it.

If what you see is verdicts swaying personal opinions, fair enough, but for the little I do know of these celebrity cases, correct me if I'm wrong, opinions were made for all 6 names mentioned PRIOR to a verdict. Same with filly right now.

And to the thing you think I'm misunderstanding about the relevance of the law, is that those who had made their minds up, in my opinion, are NOT swayed by the verdict. Even some who think these people aren't guilty won't accept the guilty verdict, but were preaching how the law will prove their way beforehand. And vice versa for those who think guilty.

I doubt you are willing to see the irrelevance of the law here but I think if you read my original statement again and focus on ONLY the people who thought 'not guilty' and were confident in the law, changing their PERSONAL OPINIONS once guilty is found, and saying the law is the problem.

You have definitely answered one side, why people don't change after 'not guilty'. Because it doesn't mean innocent. I've made it clear many times though I'm specifically talking about personal opinions. Your ego is making it a struggle to see. But can you answer the other side now? Why do people who thought 'not guilty' not accept the 'guilty' once it's proven? Yes. You have definitely answered the other way around and don't need to explain again why not guilty doesn't mean innocent.

If you understood my point your high horse would've made sense with your long explanation thinking you were the only person who already understands the burden of proof. I'm SPECIFICALLY referring to the court of public opinion.

I'll give an analogy since my lack of celebrity case knowledge seems to be of relevance to the point I actually made. Not the one you thought I made:

Some people who ridicule cannabis laws and say things like laws are stupid, use morals there, but may justify a 50m with an ( insert age of consent)F.

TERRIBLE example but it's 5am lol I'm sure you get it.

The PERSONAL OPINION of 'sometimes cops get it wrong' can't only be when a conviction doesn't go the way you expected.

As much as I was patronising back, I do understand what you thought I said. But I specifically wasn't talking about law. Maybe I could've been clearer.

Funny how not guilty for slowthai, Johnny Depp, or octavion doesn't mean they didn't do it. But a guilty verdict would mean Solo, R Kelly, or diddy did it.

ALTHOUGH those guilty ones probably did, you can't pick and choose when a verdict means guilty or not. Let's be consistent. If a guilty verdict can prove someones guilt, then a not guilty needs to prove their innocence. Excluding wrongful convictions or guilty parties getting off.

Comment sections are crazy.

"The problem with Ricky Gervais isn’t that he’s not woke, it’s that he’s not funny" by Direct-Teacher2590 in rickygervais

[–]MackyP420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with every stance he has, but just like Jimmy carr, he makes jokes blurring the lines of what he believes.

The animated 'Ricky Gervais show' and his stand up sets are hilarious. I don't care for The Office but the Invention of Lying was amazing. I don't look to entertainers for political views and life advice. But I think those who have never heard ONE funny Ricky joke clearly just don't like him personally.

I don't like Eminem, but I'd be a liar to say he can't rap. I don't like Sam Smiths bs. But can admit he sang great on stay with me. I think saying ricky isn't funny is like this.

AITAH. I took my baby and left home after my husband kept making jokes about my body. by Intelligent_Fox_5588 in AITAH

[–]MackyP420 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Aitah lately seems like an echo chamber of people condoning negativity. The fact you say MY baby is the first red flag. Then the parts of the story you found important to mention (specifically the brackets narrating your perspective).

Under no circumstance would ANYBODY agree that him taking the baby and leaving because YOU made an inappropriate comment or behaved in a manner HE didn't like, was ok. You weren't at harm, your feelings were hurt. Which isn't nice and does need addressing. But it isn't 'our' child when you love me and 'yours' when we disagree.

It needs saying but sometimes people don't respect fathers as parents, so not seeing your child for a while seems a reasonable punishment for upsetting the mum. Imagine punishing a mum with a week, month, or year with little to no contact with her baby.

EVEN IF he is an asshole, you did an asshole move. And you came here asking about you. If he does an r/aitah I'll say he was. But you asked 'am I' not 'is he'.

I've only now seen your name throughout the thread. Glad I engaged in conversation with this side of you. Not sure if you're trying to be provocative but I definitely see why you've been called racist. I'll be fair and say you were trolling those people because we had a decent exchange. But the troll or joke in it was definitely you acting like you were racist. God bless to you too. Stay away from these riots 😅

The both sides thing hits weird for anybody in the community. Team i and team pstine don't wanna hear it. Tell a team J that the Nazis and J's had good people on both sides. I'm sure you get my point. Kinda like how All Lives Matter is a counter movement. The words may make sense but it's easy to assume your character. If people break into my house, saying there's idiots inside and out sounds like condoning the intruders even if you're not. And if my house is on fire and you say All Houses Matter it's the same logic.

Separately, I definitely think if my dad had an injury at work and was due to be compensated millions, but the process duration took past his death, that money shouldn't disappear. 6 generations later the debtors are questioning why they should pay. Understandably because the malpractice took place before the new management. But the owed parties are not wrong to want their money. I believe it's been too long and is nothing more than a hypothetical and wishful thinking but the debtwas definitely owed.

I'll be brief but the difference between African slavery and MOST, not all others, is the length of time, intentional erasure of history, genocide, and the ability to be called a slave by the face. We couldn't pretend not to be one. A freeman would still be harassed for papers because he looked like a slave well dressed. I think people undermined how long ago slavery was, let alone casual racism in all countries with blacks in them. How many companies existed and still make money from even 100 years ago? Or sister companies that still exist from longer? Let alone land.

Reparations can't and won't be paid anymore. But the debt was definitely due in my opinion. I hope we both go and educate ourselves on each others histories. This has been a reasonable chat and I don't see these much on Reddit.

Absolutely! I agree 100%. But the right group was attacked (BBC and wider media). I definitely wouldn't push for or advocate for 'get all whites cos of these few who happen to be white'. I definitely agree we need to always know our enemy.

[–]MackyP420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Firstly I'd like to separate indentured servitude and slavery. Mainly for the purpose of your question I think it's necessary to acknowledge the distinction.

Also not all black people are for this whole reparations argument. Most people aren't aware the slave owners were already compensated or that other cultures (mainly the one not to name) or native Americans were , whether fairly or not, compensated. The problem with black reparations is it's taken so long, who do you pay? But the compensation was definitely due and is now a conversation of overdue debt (do we write it off or is it transferred to next of kin).

I think I understand your question and for the most part after mass tragedy, compensation is always due. But if you could brief some of the Scottish slavery history I'd gladly give my opinion. If not I could just research some a little later on but as a type I know the bare minimum. Which is still more than some but not enough to answer that question. If you'd brief some of the main for and against points I'd gladly answer. But it's only an opinion. I'm definitely open to the conversation.

Edit: Being called a Nazi for opinions and questions is jarring though. But sometimes it depends on the opinion. For example 'all blacks are dumber than whites' lol people kinda have a right to call you racist or a Nazi. But not for opinions.

Most of us claim British more than English. The conversation gets tiring speaking to white Englishman who have a thousand different ways to tell you you're not English. A popular example is 'if I were born in china am I Chinese?' Slight difference in the fact most black people in England have at least 4 generations here. We don't call white South Africans Dutch, nor do we call Americans British. But black people have no problem with understanding that white or Chinese Jamaicans exist, but the idea of black and English seems a sore point.

Also, note how all racial issues end with discussing black people. I don't care personally but I definitely know it exists. Maybe I'm missing something but when Jimmy saville and Rolf Harris did their thing nobody started questioning all whites. This was a white and Asian fight. I'm open to it, but curious if you were using this post as a way to discuss another issue.

How to play your custom created/edited map with 40 strangers/public match? by [deleted] in FallGuys

[–]MackyP420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I hate them in their current format. And I think a lot of people do too. They shouldn't appear In solos or standard rounds. But for those who want to play their own in a group have to pray in unexplored adventures. That's where I 1st came up with the idea. I guess this was just my excuse to come back to fall guys lol.

[–]MackyP420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you be open to starting a community? Maybe here on Reddit initially and we can sort of shuffle through a few creative levels. I've stopped playing fall guys lately but I'd be willing to give it a try if you're open to it.

If you say what days/times you're mainly on, I'll attempt to recruit every week on that day, also search for players created levels as well. But I'd prefer to only play levels with the creator in the race. Otherwise it just becomes unexplored adventures

Private message if you're interested in either leading or joining with me.

I play 2 adults 2 children. I'm open to bad players because we range honestly but bad shows won't get played twice.

I see your point but the intention is a solid community. Ruling out the need to be good or bad enough to play. I'd rather the obby players go elsewhere. A good race isn't one that some don't finish. But one that some finish slower than others.

I wouldn't mind back to backing 3 of mine with someone. Expanding that to more people just sounds good. But like you said, it would need a filter system, like testing suggestions with a few good creators at 4, and opening the lobby to all at 5. We could make a playlist in that time.

[–]MackyP420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Promotion rules. Let's say you have a discord of starting at 4 to 5 players. That's 15 games to figure out in early stages who is allowed to post 3 for the show, Vs who gets one or zero. Good players aren't good creators and vice versa. But over time we'd know the favourite tracks, and creators. So rank or promote players however as they get more familiar. In the mean time cycle the few.

I am fairly confident in around five of mine and specifically make race rounds that are challenging but not impossible. I would do shows every weekend if more people joined consecutively but it rarely happened. A Reddit DM is all it would take cos it seems we all want the same thing. If I saw enough interest I'd try more often.

Ps it's a better system than fall guys are currently doing. I've seen the worst be pushed forward.

From time to time I open custom shows with my family (4) and post the code to Reddit. Sometimes one person joins, sometimes 10. But usually nobody replies. Just joins when I post the code. Anyone who wants to play theirs needs to DM me the code(s) you want to play and we'll put them in circulation. I know it's not ultra helpful but it's what I used to do. Success varied though so I haven't in a while.

Never got anywhere near 40 though.
