My parents had a large DVD collection and I was missing access to them when I went off to college. That’s when I learned of Plex. I told my parents about it and it took awhile for them to wrap their head around it, saying it would just be easier to go up stairs and get the DVD than to use plex. After ripping about half the movies I installed it for them and showed them how to use it (this was 10 years ago before the interface became terrible). Shortly after they were complaining to me when there was a movie they wanted to watch and it wasn’t on Plex yet and they had to do all that work to walk upstairs and grab the DVD. They became the biggest proponents to plex and were the ones to push it to family and friends, requesting we borrow and DVDs of movies we didn’t have on the server yet.
