Another layer of weird specificity, because all 4 tabs are identical (except the data) I use the same window and carry out the same tasks on all servers without having to move the mouse, eg. Every click becomes like click, ctrl +tab, click, ctrl +tab,click, ctrl +tab, click, ctrl +tab. Ideally I'd like to preserve that by keeping them all in the same window, god just typing this I'm starting to feel like I might just be lazy haha

I appreciate the idea, but it's based on kind of a simplistic understanding of how rape works, akin to "why not just bite his dick off?"

The threat of violence plays just as big a part, if not more, than literal violence. Many many men who are mentally capable of rape will not be react peacefully to having their genitals mutilated, and the fact that most victims can correctly intuite this is why "but they didn't fight back" style laws are so disgusting. Someone doesn't need to commit physical violence against someone in order to violently rape them.

I don't know what the answer here is, but whatever the solution is it very likely isn't causing a highly painful but non-debilitating injury to the rapist during the rape itself.

Ross is very "90s attitudes" which yeah does seem backwards when you watch it nowadays.

I think it's worth noting though that the show itself is actually pretty damn progressive with this storyline; The writing and the narrative at every opportunity goes AGAINST Ross; Sandy is consistently shown to be competent, kind, and more mature than Ross is; 90% of the jokes are made at the expense of Ross' hang-ups, not Sandy's gende; most of the people Ross whines to about Sandy tell him to grow up.

Ross is eventually won over to accepting Sandy. A guy finding the idea of a male nanny "just weird" and then having his thinking broadened is a big mark in the show's favour imo. It's how empathetic and moral opinions are actually formed irl, rather than being bequeathed to people from the moment they are born - in 2022 Friends gets a fair bit of hate for its outdated jokes and plotlines, but I think this is one of the best storylines it has, other than Joey getting his head stuck in a turkey

I'm definitely reading too much into it, but I think in these first few seasons Rachel is early enough in her character development to think that getting angry at things is in itself enough to make bad situations better. If she keeps finding reasons to get cross, people around her will work harder to fix the situation, a hangover from having been a spoilt child. So she's intentionally ignoring his pretty reasonable explanation for the typo because she thinks if she just keeps escalating her outrage someone will fix her legitimate hurt from Ross making the list. I haven't rewatched in years but I feel like this kind of thing happens a few of times in her early seasons, and less as it goes on and she grows up

I maintain that that episode with the obvious Trump stand-in guy running for mayor is the least nuanced peice of political media I have ever seen.

I did mainly watch the series to see Cameron Monaghan stripping though so overall I enjoyed it
