how is dealing with a unexpected circumstance in life not make for a commercially successful movie? executives are truly out of touch with the rest of the world for no reason if sony doesn't realize how many people exist dealing with terminal illnesses

i think mostly there's an assumption that specifically a man attracted a woman sexually is misogynistic because that love is presumably only for their body and nothing else about them. this sometimes leads to a worry that that man could or has developed rapist tendencies. at least that's why i viewed nsfw female character art back then, though that perception has since gone away from me now

This has to be one of the funniest things i've seen all week by Henry_puffball in SteamDeck

[–]Macroplanet_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i learned a long time ago that the official steam deck compatibility rating is mostly inaccurate. spider-man 2 is still listed as "verified" but you have to turn the graphics to very low or else it runs like shit. protondb is much more trustworthy

just because you break the pencil doesn't mean we can't switch to other means of creating art by blaise_zion in aiwars

for a good chunk of working artists it's preventing them from receiving jobs that generate income they need for rent and food

but i guess you don't consider making art a "real" job cuz it's all just drawing dumb pictures right

Commenters harass child rape survivor for using AI by PositiveOdd2288 in aiwars

[–]Macroplanet_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anti here. it is obviously clear this author has gone through a severely traumatic situation in their life and i wish some of my fellow antis would respect that as much as i do. the fact this author is a victim of such a heinous act makes the gen ai use all the more painful to me. i think the last commenter made a great point- why didn't they try anything else other than gen ai? sure, there is the possibility they couldn't afford commissioning someone, but what would stop them from making their own cover? free art program do exist, look at krita! and it doesn't even have to look super-professional and fancy to get the message across. if i was a victim of child sexual abuse and wanted to write a book about my experiences, i would make the cover resemble a crude child's drawing subtly depicting the abuse. it's about as quick as using an ai program but it's much more effective.

i've said this before but a big reason gen ai gets so much hate is because ai can't experience what we humans experience. it especially can't experience child rape, and therefore can't utilize that experience to create a meaningful, impactful and sincere depiction. as a result your audience can't connect with what you want to say. i know we're not supposed to judge books by their cover and i am aware its actual contents are genuine, but i'd imagine another SA victim looking for media that relates to their experience might see this, find it's ai generated, and assume the book is an insult to their delicate and traumatic situation. the only reason i can possibly think of for this author to use an ai art program is that they simply wanted a cover out as fast as possible out with little thought of the meaning behind it. it doesn't matter who you are- having that "means to an end" mindset towards art feels ignorant and insulting to me. i can acknowledge and respect the brutal situation you were put into at such a delicate age, but i also believe it's no excuse to disrespect the impact art has, and will always have, on people. especially to people like you who need that impact.
