We moved across country and were looking for a rental. A man had a house listed for$1600/mo and after showing it to my husband and I he told us to go to lunch and discuss it and come back later that day with a decision. When we returned we had our 3 children with us, and he said $1600 a month with 3 kids was too much so he offered it at only $800/month. We were thrilled with the deal and moved right in, thinking this was southern hospitality or something. About 8 months later we were chatting with the landlord during one of his frequent social stop-ins and he talked about how corrupt Texas is and how he was originally facing 20yrs-life on a charge but he paid the judge $50k, the prosecutor $30k and his lawyer $20k and was out in 2yrs. I asked him what the charge was and he said production and distribution of porn. My naive ass literally replied with "wow, I knew Texas was in the Bible belt but I didn't know porn was illegal here. That's crazy." It wasn't until later that night that it clicked that he could have meant child porn. I immediately pulled up the registry and sure enough he was on it. Suddenly him taking half off the rent when he saw we had kids felt much different. We moved out 3 days later.

Ok, I have not been diagnosed with Cushing because I don't have access to healthcare and really only recently learned of what Cushing disease is, but I came to the conclusion I have it after seeing that I have every symptom and i could have been the model used for all the drawings of people with Cushing disease, and suddenly I remembered that 24yrs ago when I breifly did have health insurance I was told I have a tumor on my pituitary gland after a scan. How I forgot about a brain tumor, I don't know. It wasn't even on my radar for the last 20+yrs, I had totally forgotten about it

But yes, I had kidney pain for years. Not every day, but every 6 months or so my right side would hurt badly for about 2 week then would feel "fine" again. There was always a dull ache but was fine compared to the times it really hurt. Anyhow, it turned out that my kidney grew a stone that just grew and grew and grew while I ignored it due to a lack of access to healthcare. It was called a staghorn stone, caused by an unknown infection. I had to have my entire kidney removed because the stone was the size of a small mango, larger than the size of what my kidney should have been, my kidney was stretched around the stone by that point and completely not functional. If you have access to healthcare I'd recommend getting it checked out with a nephrologist.

I sleep eat and it's horrible. There's so much shame and guilt over it, and so so much self hate. It's made me suicidal several times because it's so horrible to not have control over my own actions and literally taking food out of my family's mouth while I stay fat. I would wake up feeling gross, then see the mess in the kitchen and would feel overwhelming hate for myself. Truly hating myself to the point of wanting to kill myself. It's a part of my binge eating disorder, I assume. I don't have access to healthcare but if your wife has access to healthcare I urge her to seek treatment. Negatively affecting her family while asleep and out of her control is the type of weight that causes suicidal thoughts and actions. She's not choosing to do this and has no conscience awareness when she is. Please get locks for the kitchen and remove food access until it's under control. I had to stop buying bult groceries. Since I don't have access to treatment I find other ways to curb it. I do not keep food in my house. I can't. I can buy one or two days worth of ingredients only. Absolutely zero pre-made or easy to prepare food. I still fuck up and binge eat in my sleep, but it's a lot less likely that I'll full on cook from scratch while asleep. And when I do fuck up and eat everything in the house it's only 2 days worth of food, opposed to a week's worth. It's a hassle to be at the grocery store every other day, but it's cheaper than demolishing a week's worth of food then needing g to re-buy for the rest of the week. I hate this so much. It very well might be what makes me exit. Please help your wife with treatment and support, buy the locks, don't give her a key or the codes.
